EE - Why a 10 month wait?
Obviously they want it to culminate with the 30th Anniversary, but couldn't they have kicked off the Lucy storyline later in the year?
I don't understand why it had to be Good Friday when she died. Why make us wait 10 whole months to find out who killed her? The Archie murder reveal took 2 months. That storyline had a lot of holes but it had great pacing. Whereas this storyline just drags and drags, to the point where it's actually getting frustrating. We still have 6 months left to go... |

I lost interest in who bumped Lucy off ages ago. I never liked the character anyway, so the best thing they could have done from my point of view was to get rid of her.
![]() As for dragging it out. I delay start the show and fast forward through all the Lucy bits. |

Sharongate lasted 2 years.
I am glad that things haven't wrapped up quickly and they are exploring different singles of this storyline. Would rather have storied like this that last for months over episodes that involve cold cuts and snakes |

I agree the storyline has dragged at times, but i like the fact that we don't find out straight away as in real life a murder is not sorted out in 2 months a lot of the time, it can take Months or years before family and relatives find out if ever, so in that aspect i think it is pretty realistic. Probably would be a good thing if the story was put on the back burner for a bit though as it does seem to be going round in circles with Ian having to avoid a secret being revealed about his were about's on the night Lucy died.

And as long as they can pull it off, it'll make the reveal more anticipated and exciting. It's a big storyline to look forward to. The only other soap I watch is Hollyoaks so god know I need a decent shock and reveal!

Also, when it is revealed, do you think the killer will be revealed to the Square, or just to the audience? (Like Stacey was).
And do you think who ever did it will remain in the show, or be written out? |

I don't mind a slow burner but they made a mistake letting slip that it ends in Feb and not springing the death on us.

It's getting tired. Now we're having "Jay is the killer" week. Following on from "Max is the killer", "Jake is the killer", "Ian is the killer", "Lee is the killer", "Billy is the killer" etc, etc, etczzzzzz.
At least have "Tracy is the killer" week. It'll give her something to do. |

I think if they tell people when it is, people are going to make sure they watch it, though. It's like the spoiler that Lucy was going to die, I rarely watched EE, mostly just kept up with it from the spoilers on here, but I tuned in to watch her dean and the aftermath. I couldn't really keep up with it though but I've been watching daily recently. People will know when to come in for the reveal.

I see your point but think if they had just exploded it onscreen and not said anything it would have really made people sit up and set it apart from the usual Whodunits we've had over the last ten years.
If they didn't say and instead said that it'll be surprising and unexpected when. People would keep watching but soon get bored. |

I don't think the wait is that long. We are already 4 months passed since the murder and I don't even feel like we've scratched the surface of the story yet.

tbh i don't mind the long paste but i do wish Lucy was being killed off later on in the year maybe October/Novemeber it would of been good to see Lucy deteriating and seeing her emotional strain, Hetti did really well in the last month to the build-up and i could imagine her doing even better if it was longer. I do wish Peter got killed off instead though Lucy had more potencial IMO

I'd rather they hadn't said when we are going to find out.

The first ever storyline "Who killed Reg Cox" lasted 3 years it was only when Den bumped into Nick Cotton in prison that it was revealed Nick was the killer.

It's a good storyline but gets dropped way too often, for stupid pathetic filler storylines that's me my blood boil! (Tinas drug ordeal, roxy and aleks, The spraggans, homey returns with an awful storyline, etc...) the only thing I don't like about the actual storyline was the build up to her murder, it was VERY rushed, there's not any proper suspects tbf, but I suppose secrets will unravel more and more:P

Why does a story have to start run and stop?
It works far better being allowed breathing space over a longer period and told in chapters. They have to focus on other stories too. |
