EastEnders - Landlady Mrs Linda Carter

Love her. A mixture of Angie's brashness, Peggy's boldness with a dash of Pat's colourful wardrobe.

Kellie Bright has proven herself as one of the best EE newcomers in recent years. I just hope they don't ruin her character with a boring Dean affair. Viewers don't want to see what. Viewers have been crying out for a long term stable and loyal couple. Let that be Mick and Linda.

She's fantastic, the only character I am interested in.

She's fabulous. My favourite new character for years and years.

Linda really is carrying the show at the moment.

I agree, she is doing a wonderful job & long may she reign.

I just hope the writers don't ruin her in any way.

Danny Dyer has impressed me too in all fairness - I wasn't sure about his casting, but he's doing great

All three of their names are above the door.

I like Linda, in fact I prefer the three Carter ladies (I exclude Tina) to the men.

Linda and Mick are the "proper" owners of the Queen Vic but Shirley owns a tiny stake of the Queen Vic. Mick paid £800,000 for the Vic and Shirley only paid £10,000 (Stan's money). Shirley doesn't act like a landlady so Linda is the chief landlady

Surprised to see such positive comments for Linda considering she was the least favourite of the immediate Carter family few months ago. But yes, absolutely love her!

It has not been made clear whether Shirley has a stake in the business, just that the licence to sell alcohol is jointly in her name.

Her position as 'landlady' is just for show. She is effectively just a manager.

Linda is the best character the have introduced since Ronnie.

I've always loved Linda, and I sometimes what it is that makes her so popular now? I think it is because she's playing such a down to earth part who most women can relate to, but that isn't boring either. I think she's very charasmatic and just basically so refreshing, and her and Mick are fantastic as a couple.

Except she isn't Mrs Linda Carter. She's not married.

She needs to have a slapping match with someone, you aren't a proper landlady of the Vic until you've slapped someone and had a major hissy fit.

You won't be granted a license to sell alcohol with a criminal record.
So Shirley cannot hold a license. It's for show only.

Neither could basically anybody who's run the Vic - including Den, Grant, Phil, and both Kat and Alfie. But shhhh don't tell the writers

It depends on what the criminal conviction is. By law it would need to be disclosed. The local authority will then decide whether to grant the licence or not.

EE do know what they are doing because when Alfie threw Kat out of the pub, Phil had to place Roxy in there as licencee with her name above the bar as Alfie couldn't hold the licence himself. So Kat must have been granted the Vic licence in 2010 but not Alife.

I love Linda. She's a brilliant girly girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. I love how her bubbliness and she has a good head on her shoulders. One of my favourite character. And I hate girly girls aha

The Carters are my favourite family but Linda does remind me of Angie Watts.
