She has spent much more time being under number 3 than she has at number 3 though. Without a significant spike (or serious crash in her competitors) coming from somewhere else she's not moving up in the real charts next week.
Her single is doing fairly well. But the pattern with Syco-signed XF alumni is almost always a strong debut showing because Syco front-load their acts (i.e. spend a lot of money on getting a strong debut to try and establish an act, but not nearly so much on the rest of the album/potential singles) and their supporters from their time on the show rush to buy the first single to re-iterate their support.
Then as the weaker material comes to light their chart positions and sales dwindle. The exceptions to this rule are Little Mix and 1D but they're much stronger 'brands' as it's generally easier to brand a group, so their support is less liable to waver with weaker material. Fleur has a strong image and is a good dancer, but at the end of the day if the material isn't up to scratch her sales will dwindle and, imo, Breakfast is already demonstrating that Fleur is likely to follow this same pattern - it's entirely forgettable in comparison imo.
Add in the fact that she's
never again going to have such heavy and expensive cross-media promotion as she does right now with the Asda adverts etc and I would be extremely surprised if she ever places higher in the singles chart unless she's lucky enough to be given a
really killer lead single for a second album.
