There is a certain Fleur fan on here who doesn't need ridiculing as they do a brilliant job of that themself by their words and actions. Everyone else seems quite rational.

I can't believe this Ben vs Fleur comparison is still going on, different style of artist, different career strategy.

I really think people should try to manage their expectations though. Fleur could be the type of artist whose singles do quite well but albums get a lukewarm response. Rita Ora has had the same issue but she's still out there.

As a Fleur fan has just posted a really well written and reasonable post, I suggest you read it and take notes.

I am not belittling Fleur, nor am I blanket-belittling Fleur fans. I am just challenging what, a whole three or four Fleur fans on here to try posting some actual discussion and/or sense. If you think I belittle you I'm actually only responding to your posts which are imo worthy of belittlement, given they are full of tribal clap-trap and bear little to no relation to reality. Post something sensible and I will give that post the respect it deserves. Until then...

Someone was saying Fleur is going over to America March 2016 so she either going to do some new material to crack there or promote sax again!

Regarding album sales and tours and cracking worldwide it's a big ask of any of artist Fleur only been out officially a year - she has a lot of work to do before she even starts thinking about cracking America - she said herself she wants to stay in uk and establish herself.

In terms of longevity just have to wait it out but I'm hopeful because she is doing well! As fans you do tend to be optimistic it kinda goes without saying sometimes you need to pull it back though - which I am doing it the sense of anything could happen and my hope is she just keeps selling and gaining momentum!

She's doing the jingle bell ball tonight so she could be on course to pick up new fans and she gets to rub shoulders with the other artists and that's always great to network!

I really think she could be big but it's all down to public getting behind her!

I think her music style would be much more suited to America than here in the UK. Hopefully things go well for her Eva!

We are a rare breed it seems. Unfortunately some fans are as bad as hardcore One Direction fans.


Something tells me certain fans won't read it as it's too sensible and level headed (not to give myself a big head ). It seems some view this thread as an appreciation rather than a discussion thread.

I like Fleur but I think only 4 songs would appeal to the American market. I don't like this she's going to do this or she'll be huge there. Nobody knows whether she'll be a success or one hit wonder. To have huge expectations of somebody who has only released one single and album only out is unrealistic. Yes hope for this or that but by saying she'll be a success in America is setting yourself up for disappointment. She isn't even huge in the UK yet.

Leona and Alex, who in my opinion are better, only really had success with one album. Leona may have had success with Echo but she'll only really be known for one album outside of her fanbase. Little Mix are the exception with their success rising with their third album. Alex didn't even get that far and Leona didn't have much success with hers.

The site called haters on this thread are the ones with well balanced views and constructive criticism. Out of the ones who post a lot and are all positive the only one not to go too crazy is Eva. It's only really two posters here who are wearing rose tinted specs and view Fleur as the second coming and refuse to read anything other than how great Fleur is and how she'll be the next Beyoncé.

Yourself and MysteriousOz have the type of views that are realistic and don't expect too much from her. Both of you appreciate the type of performer she is while being smart enough to know she isn't a success yet. She isn't successful yet. Doing well in an X Factor vote doesn't mean successful or guarantee success. Just ask Eoghan Quigg, Janet Delvin, Christopher Maloney or anyone else in her position though I'm aware the ones mentioned topped the voting. The real test is the album sales. If she doesn't sell a lot Simon will drop her. She can be a single selling artist all she likes but the real money comes from albums and touring.

People can be happy and express what they would like but keep it realistic and do it without being rude to other posters or artists. Nobody wants to be like the One Direction fandom but certain fans online including social media are in danger of being just that. By being that person you tar all fans with the same brush and people will end up not liking the artist.

I don't know the age of people on here but social media are teens or young 20's. Maybe being almost 30 has me viewing things differently or the fact so many X Factor acts have come and gone before Fleur that have crashed and burned. Only a handful are still standing in the charts. Before hailing her a success let's see where the album charts, how this era goes and how she does after. That's too sensible for some fans though.

you have made some reasonable points, but the problem is that there are some on the forum who have no time what so ever for Fleur, but spend more time on this thread than a lot of her fans do. Maybe i am missing something but if i font care about an artist, for instance LM then i dont' bother going onto their discussion thread making endless negative comments about them.

I've no problem with people who aren't as keen on Fleur as the rest of us posting in the thread, but I disagree that they are making "constructive criticism". It just seems all negative from them from what I've seen, as if they don't like seeing others be happy for their favourite artist.

Same, I'm really proud of her and I love what I've heard from the album. Fingers crossed she continues to do well, she's a fantastic talent.

I agree on that point. I don't care for One Direction or any one on the show this year but I wouldn't go into their threads to lurk never mind post.

I admit I've not read much this week as I was on holiday but the points I was making about constrictive criticism are when posters say Fleur is an excellent performer but not a great singer which while I may not agree with but I respect their view.

Some posters may come in and show their obvious dislike to Fleur but rather than fight rude with ruder why not ignore and not respond? This is a discussion thread though so you will get people saying sstiff like she's crap or she's going to flop. It comes down to how you handle that criticism which isn't constructive.

From what I've seen of MysteriousOz for example though is saying Fleur may not be successful or she may be dropped if the album doesn't sell which is a fair comment. If people here can say she may be successful or she may do well in other countries then others are allowed to say the opposite. I'm somewhere in the middle. I think she'll be successful but I know there's every chance this time next year she may not have a contract and only be known for Sax.

Everyone on here knows that you have no interest in Fleur as an artist, and dont like her music, so just out of interest why do you spend more time on this thread than any other? I just find it rather odd.

I just don't see a popstar when I look at Fleur. There's no star quality. Can't picture her having longevity, can't picture her filling out seats in an arena. She seems like a nice lady and she's got an okay voice, but... meh. She's very vanilla.

I hope she will be making an appearance in next weeks final.

That's a matter of opinion. Although I agree she does have a slightly stronger vocal, Fleur has a lot more sass and edges it performance-wise of Sax, imo.

I was surprised the show didn't mention her at all tonight. No cameos, no random plugs, nothing.
