That excuse would hold up if she wasn't hyped to high heaven and given a high profile performance slot on a high profile tv show plus loads of other promo and radio play. The problem is that she was given all of that and it's still looking likely that it failed to crack the top ten.

It is going to be interesting to see what effect her performance tomorrow evening with LM will have regarding sales of the album, and maybe gaining new fans.

Yep, it ignores the fact that album sales aren't as strong across the board. It may mean she sells less but it shouldn't affect her relative performance i.e. chart placing, as it affects *all* albums, not just hers.
She needs to hope that following singles help boost the album sales. Maybe it'll be a slow burner but I've only heard a snippet of the one that rips off Marva Whitney and Breakfast and I can't really see either of those doing what Sax did, especially without the same sort of insane cross-promotion it had.
Yep her album sales are crap - utter crap - we don't need to beat around the bush kids - it's happened before to much promo can fail sometimes it's not like she's number 13 or 14 she missed it by a small margin which is real bad luck however she may sell more this week coming.

No one is saying album sales aren't strong these days from what I've seen ? If anything there are stronger than ever atm and it always gets pretty big around the Christmas period . Yes Fleur might have come from X Factor but she is still a new artist trying to find her feet she had a hit single with Sax but it wasn't a massive long selling number 1 if it was and her album was selling like this then I would be disappointed and worried . Her album sales atm aren't amazing but they aren't terrible either .

Simon i dont think has had an artist on his label that doesn't really sell albums but sells singles instead, so who knows whether he'll drop her. 1D, LM & Olly are all album sellers and that obviously makes the bigger profit for him.

BIB - Alex's voice especially on Never say when, Serious and Gold watch. its funny, fleur has got such a good voice, very underated i think.
Sales for Fleur's album arent overly great, i'm a little worried but then she could end up selling more this week which would be a blessing if not really annoying. I said before though that Fleur is very visual and I think her sales will come from singles and touring rather than big buck album sales, if she came out with a second album with a mixture she might get those sales, she still has to establish herself too.
I read about Rihanna getting a number one album talk talk which sold less than 10k in first week - it really is timing with music.
If she gets to do a second album whether it be with a different label or syco, lesson learned here is she needs ballads to, to open up the appeal a bit.
I noticed she has alot of fans in US, she may crack there before here, theres a first time for everything lol.
EDIT - Alex did have a good run, sales and singles, but imo this was 6-7 years ago, before streaming was really used aswell, you have to take all these things into account, little unfair to compare them in terms of sales.

This has got to hurt for everyone involved. I purchased the album and I'm enjoying it, it's a solid debut album. But I can't help think that with such heavy promotion everyone in Flur's team was expecting this album to go to number 1.

Both of their previous albums went top five and are certified platinum though. The new one isn't there yet.
God knows how Fleur is feeling right now, shes performing tonight in Manchester.
I dont think they was expecting it to go number 1, they picked the hardest week going to release it, i think they were banking top 10 and it has missed it by a tiny fraction apparently.

Fleur has been dropped - its all over - it was great while it lasted - no more appearances, no more singles, the entire label has given up on it.

I certainly think that Fleur is one of those artists that people will be more interested to going to see than a lot of previous XF contestants because she is such a good performer on stage.

Just look at all the other syco acts who were dropped, no ones being dramatic. Not every single will have as much promotion as Sax did and if her 2nd single doesn't do amazingly then they might drop her. Simon cares about the money, that's all.

She isn't going anywhere and I for one am not worried. There is a lot of time and money invested in fleur and not just the UK. This is an album full of international potential. And it has already charted in countries such as Egypt and Sweden (the single sax and breakfast) there is international hype there.
Fleur is not going to be pigeon hold to the UK. I'd say come March time a European promotional tour will be announced
Perrie and Jesy from Little Mix have described the performance with Fleur as 'sassy' and will have a lot of hairography and choreography

Just because it missed top 10 now doesn't mean it won't get into the top 10 in the future

She is a good singer. I think people just see the dancing and don't give her enough credit.
I'm a bit worried about her future but hopefully sales pick up next week and over Christmas. While I appreciate she may sell singles more than albums Syco want the money from the album. There was a huge amount of pressure put on herand people expected too much.
I agree if she gets a second album she should put at least two ballads on it. An album full of uptempo rarely sells.

No we are being realistic. Bringing the album out after one single was a bad move. They should have brought it out after a second single.
A single can do well but labels care about album sales more. If this album flops and the next singles doesn't chart high enough it could be the end. Syco are only with you if you earn them enough money. Money is all Cowell cares about. Just ask every other Syco act Simon dropped.

Oh please, far better than Fleur have come from the show and been signed with Syco and even been signed to U.S labels as well, yet nothing has come from it or they've been dropped by SYCO.
