Well yes but with the amount of promo the label put in to it you'd expect it to chart at least at #10. Simon can pretend he's happy but inside he must be pissed. We'll see as time goes by though and how much she's sold.

I don't see either staying around for long. I don't follow Ben but I don't think his sales are strong and now with Fleur it's not looking good. Fleur could have lasted longer but, depending on sales of her album, both could be dropped at the same time.
She could be a single selling artist but that isn't enough in this industry. If people aren't bothering with her album I doubt Syco will give her her own tour.

Haha no one cares about Ben, all we have tried to say is that fleur is a great performer but not the next superstar. And this thread wouldn't be on the front page if it wasn't for the continual updates about everything and anything she does

The artists coming off XF/SYCO are starting to see what happened to the American Idol winners and signed non-winners when the ratings declined. A top selling album no longer was automatic. The artists became more and more like garden-variety new artists.
Interestingly as far as I can tell it seems it's joint equal for the lowest placing album entry from an artist releasing a debut album off the back of the XF.

There's no disputing she's done rubbish with album sales

unfortunately for her that's not a great pointer either, almost anything does well on the back of an advert. One of the best selling singles artists around is that John Lewis bloke, everything he releases flies up the chart

Nicholas McDonald managed that in a quiet part of the year. It's not good even if it outshines Ben. At the end of the day I'm sure both Ben and Fleur fans hoped for much better.

Sure. But he also did that with absolutely no support from the XF and no promo. Similar to Andrea and (possibly) Marcus. I'm sure there are others too.

The album has only been out for seven days, not seven weeks. plenty of tim for it to move up.

There seems to be a lot of confusion in this thread... "Sax" the single got a lot of promotion... "Love, Sax and Flashbacks" did not.
Heavily promoted single =/= heavily promoted album or high selling album.
That's where Syco have gone wrong. Too much promotion spent on Sax and not enough on the album.

She had adverts for the album during the XF last week. She's had a ton of press fluff pieces. The Asda adverts are still going. She's had more promo than most winners.
So maybe they ain't bothered bout fleurs album sales at the mo if they ain't heavily promoting the album!

She had adverts during last weeks XF! You can't get much heavier promo towards an XF audience than that!

Can we not turn this into a Fleur vs Little Mix/Ben/whoever? As had been pointed out by even yourself this is a Fleur thread where people talk about Fleur. Positive or negative. Even neutral.

It could be higher. I hope it is for her sake. It is a pretty good album but maybe the public are put off by the constant uptempo music. Maybe they assume after hearing Sax and Uptown Funk the entire album will be like that so aren't giving it a chance. Who knows? My bet is Syco ballsed up by releasing the album too early and in the worst week possible.
