This is not an appreciation thread and most of the opinions posted by non fleur fans are pretty much on point. The problem is the Fleur fans cannot handle the truth and cannot debate without insulting or resorting to personal attacks.As someone else posted i find it fascinating that here ds fans are probably her only fanbase, and some of the stuff i have read from them really does border on deluded. IT MAKES for an entertainingly humorous debate.

Absolutely QFT. Outside of DS, I have heard nothing about Fleur in the last 6 months. Outside of DS, it's like she never existed - apart from the occasional blast of her Uptown Funk rip off.

I'd be absolutely embarrassed to ask people who know real music what their opinion is of a reality tv contestant. Happy to ask on your behalf though, I'll mention your name as you said you chat to some of them online. Are the ones you speak to weekday or weekend Dj's just so as I know whether we know the same people?

Most of the DJs that I speak to are on during the weekdays.

Is it just me that's missing your point? (doubtful). Why would I ask people who are soul/jazz/house Dj's about an artist I consider a reality tv karaoke pop star when you, as a huge fan, doesn't ask the same people about her but ask about other more relevant acts instead?

Fleur doesn't offer anything different - didn't say she did but she can still be successful. With the right material it's like any artist.

What Fleur sound is, is old Skool she's trying to bring back that sound and it's not exactly working because the public are only interested in a current sound this is why she needs to keep in wth the trends, Bruno Mars has a hit with uptown funk but where was his next Hit off the album after ? As far As I know he didn't have one did he. That Old Skool sound only works sometimes, the public are young generation generally who buy off trends - public are fickle - I expect that is why Fleur is in the studio - starting up a new era.

The only song that is current soundings on album is something like baby don't Dance or breakfast

Re 'old skool' and the public having no appetite for it, the best selling songs of the past few years are Get Lucky, Blurred Lines, Happy and Uptown Funk. Every one of them sounds like something that would have been played in Studio 54.

I understand fans are disappointed that Fleur hasn't been the success they hoped for but sometimes even the most uber fan needs to face facts and accept it ain't gonna happen

Thing is though Jeref, this is a 'discussion' forum and this isn't an appreciation thread, so if someone wants to discuss Fleurs faults, why shouldn't they come here to chat about it?
