"Anti Fleur" would make Fleur sound more important/popular than she has proven to be.I do find it amusing that people in this thread who support Fleur appear to lack the ability to have a calm, civilized debate. I understand how frustrated some of you might be due to her poor sales, but lets try to keep this non personal. When I add it all up and realise the majority of her real fanbases are the posters here, I can understand why she has done so poorly. Who would want to be a Fleur fan and turn into one of you guys? I mean seriously.”
BIB - That's debate at it's finest, apparently
You're correct though. I actually liked Fleur on XF in the context that I thought she was a decent contestant in what is really a reality tv karaoke show. I just started to think the hype and the pimping of her by Cowell was WAY OTT vs her actual talent and, combined with the increasing hyperbole in this very forum, made me start to go the other way and post realism to counteract the fantasy scenarios.
Nowadays, outside of this thread, I would barely realise she was still around. Apart from maybe hearing the odd blast of Sax in a shop, I would have no awareness of her existence.
Her biggest problem is that she's a pretty generic pop star in an over saturated market. Without a USP or absolutely killer songs, she doesn't have a hope in hell of the big time, regardless of how much cash Syco throw at her promo and they seem to have given up on that one.
I do understand that it's hard to accept that someone you think should be up there as an artist really isn't going to be what you hoped for. I've had acts that I've rooted for and wanted to do well who have sunk without trace but it's about getting real and smelling the coffee rather than blind devotion in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary
