Should Alfie die in the fire?
Here's an easy one for you,
should Alfie Moon be incinerated in the Slater house fire? Yes or no? I'm saying no because I like Alfie because he makes me laugh and also because i'm probably one of the few people who'd say no. |

I don't think he will, and I don't really think he should (though his nice-guy image is very dull)

No, if he has fans who enjoy him. He's ok when they tone it down a bit. And I think he's had some appalling writing lately, eg "I'm a cheeky chappy!" That would be like Kat suddenly saying "I'm a tart with an heart, init!"
Besides I don't think you'd ever get over it! |

I just wonder where Kat & Alfie are heading in the show.

No. He deserves to see his kids (now that he has two that are actually his) grow up. He is written annoyingly sometimes but Kat as a single mother flitting from one bloke to the next wouldn't be good viewing.
It would be good if he was injured as Kat can redeem herself further by holding everything together and it would give Jessie and Shane something serious to work with. |

All joking about Loathing Alfie aside, I think his death would be brilliant drama

It would certainly make a great story line if Alfie was seriously burnt or something and someone does get seriously hurt in the fire! |

Yes I would, in time, as it would only be the character that dies not Shane Richie!
![]() I would for Ken and Tangy Knots.

No. I hate Alfie but I love how he's such a hypocrite. He can give it the 'apples and pears darling I'm a cheeky chappy' routine one minute, then the next he's doing that hilarious death stare at Ronnie or Stacey and being really nasty to them. I love it.

I don't like Alfie but no way should he ever be killed off. I just hope they can give him interesting storylines with Kat.

Are you sure you wouldn't be petitioning for him to return as a strange homeless man called Ralphie Loon?
![]() I would for Ken and Tangy Knots. ![]() Killing off Alfie would be a decision made by TPTB because either they are fed up with Shane and want rid or because Shane wants to remind his loyal fans that there is more to him than Alfie Moon and in either case I would wish Shane all the best for the future and look forward to any non Alfie related jobs he does. |

Well there would be about 16 stone of melted cheese going for free.
Perhaps Walford could host a giant fondue party?

No way. They can't kill Alfie off now that he has such a big family to look after.

No! He a great character, I think a good storyline for kat and alfie would be for tommy or one of the twins to be diagnosed with a terminal illness, I don't think a minor has ever died of a terminal illness on the show before have they? I don't like the sound negative, and would never wish that on anyone, but it is fiction, and I think if they wrote the storyline properly it would be a success...

I think a child with a terminal illness would be great if done right, maybe Bert or Ernie then it's Alfie's child as well as Kat's, if not a terminal illness something like meningitis might be a good issue to cover as would Alfie contracting MS! |

No. As odious and annoying as he can be sometimes, he's Kat's happy ending and she doesn't deserve to lose him after everything.

It would be good if he was injured as Kat can redeem herself further by holding everything together and it would give Jessie and Shane something serious to work with. I can see a more likely scenario is he gets everyone else to safety, then while trying to get down the burning staircase it collapses, and he ends up with spinal injuries. We would see a very different Alfie as he wrestles with the fact that he might not walk again and (in his eyes) can no longer support his family. I think Shane could handle this storyline well - he has risen to the occasion when the script has called for it and to be honest the 'cheeky chappie' act is not only wearing thin, but also seems to have been assumed by Mick Carter to a certain extent. |

I think Shane could handle this storyline well - he has risen to the occasion when the script has called for it and to be honest the 'cheeky chappie' act is not only wearing thin, but also seems to have been assumed by Mick Carter to a certain extent. Making sure all the family are out before himself is exactly the sort of thing Alfie would do, even Stacey and Jean who he isn't so fond of and it is very likely that doing this would mean that time would be ticking away leaving a very short time between his escape and the explosion and collapse of the house and it is very likely that he could fall or be blown out of the window during the explosion and land awkward and severely damage his spine. I too think Shane can handle this and it would give him a massive opportunity to shine and perhaps gain a little sympathy for Alfie. And yes, Mick Carter does seem to be the new 'happy clappy cheeky chappy' and Alfie does seem to be stuck in a rut and the script writers seem to have lost their way with him so he does need something major to happen. |

They've both been ruined beyond repair and I loathe both of them. Kat and Alfie should perish together!

Meningitis would be a good one to raise awareness, I don't think they've done that in soap before. Don't want to see any deaths though, it would feel like the Beales' story all over again.

No he shouldn't. Alfie needs more interesting storylines not to be killed off! A story where he gets injured in the fire would be good and Shane is more then capable of pulling it off.

that name always make me laugh "Alfie Moon"...somehow it typifies a typical cockney barrow boy.
