Tv HD picture not as crisp as it usd to be....
Out of the blue last month the our 40" Sony Bravia LCD went wrong, half of the screen was more or less like a block of film negative. and the colours went berserk. ....it happened with all HDI inputs (Sky HD/PS3/BD/DVD) so its a TV problem rather than a box/source etc ,we switched it off for ten mins then switched it back on again and all seemed back to normal. The same problem happened again last week, but again after a couple of ON/OFF ops its peforming as normal, EXCEPT that the HD (1080i) is noticeably not as sharp as it was, both on SKY HD, and BD films. Could this be caused by what happend with the picture going haywire ?
Do LCD sets degrade over time as our TV is (i think) five years old now. |

I assume you have gone through the picture settings menu to check that they haven't been set to something other the normal settings? Not unusual for TVs to have several presets that all look subtly different. if the TV is playing silly b's it' always possible something has changed.
But anyway it sounds as though something is seriously broken. Whether it can be fixed and whether it is cost effective to fix is another matter. |
