I have a Panasonic flat screen 32" TV.

Please, please, please, does anyone know if there is anyway you can get a scratch out of a TV screen? The scratch is not very deep but about 1" long and very visable!!

Cheers

The only thing I can think of, is a CD scratch repair kit. This will fill the scratch with a clear plastic solution hopefully making it invisible.

If it's deep, you almost certainly won't get rid of it...

In our workshop we often tried to remove scratches from Tubes, with limited success.

You used to be able to get glass polish, which was a paste that you labouriously rubbed into the glass to rub down the edges of the scratch. It rarely got rid of it completely....

A filler as MrOmega says might help....... but I have to say you'll never get rid of it totally unless it's a very minor mark.

IWHT unfortunately that a CD repair kit will not do the trick, since it is designed to match the refractive index of the plastic used in CDs and the refractive index of the glass that the TV screen is made of will be different. This is why things look different through a glass full of water than they do through an empty glass, and similarly the picture would look different through the CD-filler than through the glass so the scratch would still show up.

Thanks for your replies.

I may see if I'm covered by the household insurance.

Cheers.
