I know they are very popular together but I don't understand why many fans still want Shirley and Phil back together? He treated Shirley like crap many times but people still think it's ok for Shirley to reunite with Phil?

I'm a Shirley fan but I don't like her with Phil because he brings her down.

I am very much on the fence with Phil and Shirley. When they work, they really work but they are on and off more times than the beer pumps in the Vic, they have these really lovely scenes and then the next minute they are blackmailing and hating on each other, they always say you hurt the one you love though, right?/

Steve and Linda have brilliant on screen chemistry and that really appeals to me because that is one of the reasons why I love their scenes together.

They have been subject to some very poor writing during the shows decline in the last few years which is a shame as they do make a good couple. However, I do hate how they make Shirley behave around Phil and how they sacrifice her character for his. The only way I would accept a reunion would be if they had a future partnership that was solid, equal and lasted. Or Shirley needs to tell Phil where to get off and regain the upper hand.

Shirley and phil are two massively popular characters amongst the British public, they work well and act well together, I don't want to see them together again though! No not at all! They're much better apart! Seeing all this love for aleks, jay, and whatever on digital spy is nonsense, phil is a legend and if you asked the british public they would tell you the exact same

Maybe it's the allure of alcohol and patent leather, seems to drive him crazy.

Phil is a abuser he does it to 90% of woman his been with whether it be physical, mental or emotional abuse in some form.

Phil treats her like dogshit but she always goes back for more, his a appalling partner but she is fixated by him, she is her own worse enemy because she allows him to do it to her.

I guess only those who love them can answer that.

I'd actually like to see more of the softer side of Phil, he needs to either be alone or settle down and treat a woman decently imo and Shirley deserves a partner who will treat her well, I think she needs someone in her corner. Perhaps when Andy is cast..
Either way TPTB just need to decide what on earth they are doing.

Because Shirley loves being top dog, she wouldn't be as interested in Phil if he was poor and a no hoper. She loves status, and if that means being treated like dog shit from time to time she will lap it up.

She likes polishing bald heads as well, she has the Mr Sheen ready for when Phil comes calling.

Though when Phil was at his worst and lost everything, she still wanted him so, I dunno if that is true. Plus remember Vinnie (not that I'd want to)? He was hardly 'top dog'.

Now this, is the more likely reason. Who doesn't just love going all Mr Sheen on a bald head. hahahaha.

Phil will have to do some bald head polishing when both women see sense and leave him!

Yes i'd forgotten that...but you know EE law states that Phil must always bounce back, so maybe Shirley knew this would happen. And yes there was Vinnie, god knows what she saw in him. Not really top dog but I think he was nicer than phil. But then Shirley has got self esteem issues so maybe she settled for second best there?

Maybe top dog status is more of a bonus with her.

Shirley should stay well away from the repulsive pig - but TPTB are prepared to totally destroy her character again just so that their idol can have a quick shag when Sharon dumps him.

By the way that is her massive revenge?

Big deal.

Phil 'boomerang' Mitchell. It must be an unwritten rule for Phil in Walford. Though I do find it hilarious when he throws his weight around and turns numerous shades of red.
I try to forget Vinnie mainly because he was played by blooming Bobby Davro but, this time he needed a mention!

The only "special" thing about Phil and Shirley is that they're essentially the same character. The difference is Shirley gets an easy ride because she's a woman while Phil gets all the flack. Both should be publically humiliated and shunned from Walford forever.

apart from the wrinkles and being past it, both think they are 'well ard' when they are both a joke. Saying that I'd rather have Shirl & Phil, than him and sharon.
