I'm not one to generalise about other people without knowing them but whoever made that decision is out of their minds on all sorts of brain-addling drugs. I'd book them in for a psychiatric assessment immediately as they are clearly not all there.

Completely agree! He was shit at 'producing' Emmerdale, he is great at wrecking Corrie, and god I dread to think what his other projects were like.
