Whole Foods Market - Amazing!! Thoughts?
I was in the one in Picadilly Circus at the weekend. Cobsidering I'm from London, I can't believe I've never been in there...there's quite a few all over London. My god, it's heaven! The cheese counter is amazing. I spent ages looking at the cheeses. Then there's the salad bar, the buritto bar. It's quite expensive that's for sure, but such fantastic food in there. Will defintiely be going in there again soon!

There's a small food market behind the Southbank Centre from Friday to Sunday that has some nice stuff.

I've heard of Americans talking about shopping there in the US and it sounds wonderful. I bet it is expensive though?

Love these types of places but only as an occasional treat. Some of the prices are enough to bring a tear to your eye.

I've been to Whole Foods in the US and they are like an upmarket version of Waitrose. If you can imagine such a thing. Lot of organic food and one of the few places in the States you can get decent cheese. I've ever seen one in the UK so I can't compare their stores here.
What I like is that they also do hot meals and a deli buffet to takeaway which is great if you are stuck in a hotel next door. |

They had some of these places in NY I can't remember the name of them, but I loved the nut machine that when pressed gave out lovely fresh peanut butter.
Also liked the selection of hot and cold food. |

I love Whole Foods. As a vegan, it's practically heaven for me. Unfortunately, my closest one is in central London

I go to the one at Piccadilly Circus quite often as its near work and as someone with a dairy allergy it is a great place to stock up on all kinds of non-dairy alternatives. The Co-Yo coconut milk yoghurts are to die for, although at £2 a pot they're a little pricey
![]() Their fruit and veg is actually quite reasonably priced a lot of the time and the quality and variety is generally very good. |

We got one here a few years back. It's very nice, though, yes it's a little more expensive. Some of that is a markup perhaps, but a lot of it is just better quality products. Budget grocery stores are grim and some of the overly processed food there barely qualifies as food.
I do maybe half my shopping there. There's a local store that I like which is similar but half the size. They each carry some unusual things that the other doesn't, so I alternate for variety. |

I've been to a few in the US. Really good but yes, expensive. They push the organic stuff and obviously that's going to make it pricy. I prefer another chain called Fresh Market, don't think it's over here though.
