Has always been stories of friction with the chairman over transfer budgets.
Pulis isn't afraid to splash the cash but understand why Palace want to be cautious. |

Can't blame him for being frustrated, you've got to spend a little more than 900k if you want to stay in the Prem. I think he did enough for them last season for them to trust him with a couple more signings.

I can't see him leaving. It's likely a case of him leaking stuff about being unhappy to the press, to push the board to get on with the signings. We had the same shit in January too.
Having said all that, I couldn't see Freedman leaving either.

If he is frustrated with transfers, then I bet he would hate to work with our transfer guy, Ed would be his worst nightmare!

According to the BBC, he still manages Stoke
![]() http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/ Says his opening game is against Villa. That's Stokes first game. Palace's first game is against Arsenal.; Good reporting BBC. |

Things were going too well. Just depressingly typical.

It's there now anyway but only through Sky Sources (Twitter).
He's no daftie Pulis, there's no way he could have trumped what he did last season without major money thrown at it. |

Stoke had the 4th highest net spend in the PL in the last 4 or 5 years. Pulis insists on huge amounts being spent despite the widespread perception that he works wonders on a small budget. No surprise he doesn't want any part of trying to keep Palace in the league without a big transfer kitty.

Well it looks like Pulis has gone over Palaces transfer policy and Glen Hoddle has already been linked to the Palace job even though he has only just joined QPR as a coach!

WOW I understand the reasons but quitting 2 days before the season kicks off I think that has to be a new record. Unless he wanted to spend time enjoying the final throws of summer you figure he had little to lose by staying. It will be at least 2-3 months before spurs sack their manager so he is unlikely to get a job any time soon. You would kind of figure he had nothing to lose by staying.
Well I think that maybe one team nail on to go down for this season. Tony might have worked his magic but I cannot see any decent manager want to go their now. |

Hopefully Gerry Francis will take over.
That magnificent 80's mullet deserves much greater TV exposure. |

Moyes would probably be a good fit actually. The expectations for Palace wouldn't be that high - survival and probably advance towards the latter stages of the cups at least.
It could be a chance for him to re-establish his reputation if he did well there. |
