David vs Craig
Nicho

To be honest I was on Craig's side last night. The way he is shouted down every time he dares to say anything the slightest bit critical is moronic in the extreme. The whole point of being a judge is to make a balanced critique, positive and negative ... and that's exactly what Craig does. David's "the future is orange" remark was nasty and cheap. Craig obviously hit a nerve when he said he's prepared it well in advance (obviously true), and David's "no it's called wit" come-back showed up the true arrogance of the man.

look he was brought in to judge on dance moves not on the singing but like others have said all he does is judge on the singing.

I have actually agreed with Craig about Reggie. I think the judges go a bit far sometimes and perhaps could draw on the positives a bit more, but he can't say that Reggie can sing when clearly he can't and this is what seemed to annoy Reggie. The bloke thought he was better than he was imo.

he he....That old shout of "look, he's behind you" doesn't wash.

Reggie was obviously hurt by some of the comments, having said that, The judges are right, he just can't sing but he has super personality and I will remember Reggie for the better.

Some of Reggies (in conjunction with Mr Kielty) earlier comments about Craig were very close to the knuckle and could have been construed as "homophobic"

It was Reggie that got personal!

But I love them all!

edit: Oh yes and this orange man thing is a shallow attempt by David Grant and the students to dis-qualify and overshadow some of Craigs critical reviews.

Now then, what would people have said if he made comments on Reggies and Davids colour? hmm?

Craig actually stated that Reggie was a "good performer" and "nice guy", but his positive words were being drowned out by David 'give me more air-time' Grant, queening up hysterically to camera. Talk about overplaying ones part.

You are right Code Y. I suspect it has something to do with the format..... David and Carrie getting less air time on the FA show than before. So they grasp whatever they can...ah love em

I so totally agree.

Last night reminded me again of the darker side of David's (and Carrie's) character ...which up to that point he had kept from us in this show.

Its not for nothing the Grunts were not selected to be judges ..

I thought David actually hit the nerve actually, not the other way around, when he said "the future is orange".

I dont mind David at all, or Craig for that matter. They are both doing whats expected to be honest.

Haven't we been over this in another thread? If people make negative comments on Reggie and David's colour they are racist. That is because you can't actually choose what colour you are born, because of history, culture, and because we still, sadly, live in a prejudiced world.
You can however, choose what, if any, fake tan you use - and the last time I checked people with fake tan weren't, to give but one example, harrassed by the Police. If it makes you look orange, commenting upon it isn't racist. It's not especially witty, but it's not in the same ball park as making comments about somebody's ethnicity.
Actually even having to explain that is worrying.

It makes me sick to see how David and Carrie, bitterly sidelined from their status as judges, scream hysterically and shout down any hint of criticism (positive included) from the judging panel ... as if to say that if they can't be judges themselve then they're going to reject everything that judging represents and become the populist voice of the people. They've swung so far the other way as to be positively embarrassing.

What comments are you refering to when you say they 'could have been constued as homophobic'?

It's a genuine question, I don't remember any.
