Pulled pork food
Is it just me or is there more pulled pork food about than ever before on British menus? I get it's a cheaper cut of meat, times of austerity and all, but I was in a fairly expensive restaurant earlier with other diners salivating over pulled pork gourmet burgers.
What's wrong with a good old slab of ordinary pork? Even the local hog roast stalls have gone for this new pulled pork style rolls. |

I don't mind it but it seems to have gone from virtually nil appearance on our nation's menu to finding it hard to ignore?

Best pulled pork I ever had was from some BBQ shack in St Louis. They let the whole hogs do for nearly a day and then mix the pulled pork with their own BBQ sauce.
It was immense eats. |

I think it's just supposed to be trendy right now. Loads of places around here do it.

Probably the influence of US holidays and US food programmes. There probably isn't an episode of Man v Food or TripleD that doesn't feature pulled pork or similar bbq products.
Slow cooked bbq brisket is also becoming more popular. |

Pulled-pork does seem to be the latest food trend.
I remember trying it years ago in a Hard Rock Cafe and now you can get it in Wetherspoon's. |

Pulled pork does seem to be everywhere at the moment... Years ago I could only get it in a few restaurants, now everywhere is attempting it - even Greggs do a pulled pork pasty now. Although you can only get good pulled pork in a few places still.

I'm pleased I'm not the only one to notice it's one of the current food trends. I hope it ends up to be a fad... it's okay once in a while but it's become a food of choice by OH and given she's the better cook out of the pair of us I have to like it or lump it!

"Pulled pork"
I don't eat it unless I have prepared it myself or can see where it's come from. It's one of those products particularly if it is commercially made or offered in fast food joints than can end up being anything or worse, using up any old crappy mystery meat. |

I quite like Pulled Pork.
It is the stringy cheese of meats. |

Mmmmmm pulled pork... drool. It's everywhere because it started of as the new trendy thing and quickly became a necessity of life to anyone who tried it. It's like the heroin of the meat world, just one more hit maaan.
