The Carter's would actually be so good if DTC let these SL's develop

Tonight made me realize I actually do like the Carter's, just they're being handled very badly

If all these SL's developed with the family over the years I think it would work so much better, I think DTC should have waited to introduce some of the SL's and let things evolve rather than putting so many out there at once

Uh-huh. I see what you mean. If he had left the Shirley/Mick stuff until a bit later, then it may have been more dramatic, but maybe more obvious. We did see Shirley mother Mick a bit in the lead-up to the reveal. However, Dom didn't/doesn't know for sure how long the actors will stick around for, although Danny Dyer has expressed his hopes in being around for a while, as I'm sure you know. I think DTC just wanted to make a big impact on the show, as he says in 'Lucy Beale:Plotting The Murder' that he came in with three stories to tell: Carol's breast cancer, Lucy's murder and the Carters.

Danny Dyer could quit when his contract ends so maybe DTC is worried and that's why he is giving us so many Carter stories at once.

I do agree though it's getting annoying and putting me off the Carters.
