The ending was fantastic, I never expected her to go that way

Fair play to Kate Oates for not revealing how she would die, I think it would have ruined the impact if she had of done.

Looking forward to seeing how this effects Ross, Bob and little April

Not looking forward to Marlon making it all about him

I thought it was a brilliant ending.

So I hate to quibble, but a few of us were wondering how did she and Ross get out of the nightclub that the baddie had locked them in?
I thought you were paying attention last night?

Adam rammed the baddies car which distracted the baddies and they ran after Adam and Aaron - I think I heard the 'Head Baddie' telling them to run after them.

Presumably they forgot to lock the door on the way out which allowed Ross and Donna to escape?

What I was wondering was why would Donna allow Ross to drive off in the Police car?

Yes thanks 80s - someone else explained it the same way, which makes sense, except I just watched it again this morning, (as you do ), and Donna and Ross actually appeared to run out before the henchmen. Oh well, a minor point.

And yes, I wondered about Ross tootling off in the cop car. I suppose he was under instructions to abandon it somewhere, (although if things had gone according to plan, how would Donna have explained how she 'lost' it)?

Emmerdale are brilliant when they have big Storylines, but otherwise it is quite mundane.

It is like they keep the majority of there budget, for three or four storylines a year.
I agree they do their big episodes very well, but seriously lack consistency...

BIB - Donna told Ross to dump the uniforms and burn the car after she told him she didn't love him (sob!). Then she went up onto the roof to meet whatshisname (Gary? Paedo?) and radioed the "boys down the station" to call for back up. I think as far as Ross was concerned the plan was always going to be him getting rid of the car, Donna and the cops catching thingy on the roof after she stunned him with her taser and then himself, Donna and AdorableApril would ride off into the sunset. Donna telling him she didn't love him put the kibosh on that though as he decided he couldn't leave it like that and went back. Think Donna will manage to keep her reputation and will go down as a hero cop who fell to her death after apprehending a paedo. It's her pooing partner I feel sorry for - she dosed him with the laxatives but he'll still blame himself for not being there...

Agreed. Though a part of me feels she sent Ross off with the car because she intended to die on the job and had left a message elsewhere confirming she did love him. Her actions on the roof seen a little too organised and pre arranged.

Donna took the best option to preserve April's future. To die while trying to apprehend a baddy will come with a big payout from the Police force and rid Yorkshire and the surrounding areas of another gangster.

Well done to her!!!

Verity has also proven she is a much better actor than the average soap actress and will continue to thrive proffesionally as a theatre actress very well away from the Dales, as she has done over the last 5 years during her break.

The Cameron story was amazing and this story wasn't on a par with that, imho.
I'd rate it as good, rather than amazing.

Cameron was very different though, because it built over a really long period of time - proper slow burner, really tense, with a whole series of climaxes.

This was more of a summer flash in the pan, over almost as soon as it began. But for what it was, I loved it. There were loads of really emotional moments along the way, and the climax last night was fantastic.

I could happily have watched it build over a much longer time, but I don't want to quibble, I enjoyed it so much.

I've always liked Verity Rushworth and also the character Donna. When Donna is bad she is bad and when she is good she is really good. Loved the chemistry between Donna and Ross. Lets see if Dobbeh and Ross have the same chemistry.

LOL - watching scenes with her and Gilly from HO are up there with counting sheep. Complete snoozefest!

Unfair though. A kettle has two settings, on and off. Debbie has one: angry.

It was good but I had a feeling that she would fall off that roof somehow.

I only watched last night for Aaron's return, since I was pretty invested in his storyline during that point in my life. However it turned out to be a bit of a non-event.

I wasn't bothered though because I got really sucked into this storyline! And was genuinely shocked and sad when she died. Despite not watching any of the build up or knowing who anyone was.

Will be tuning in tonight to watch the aftermath.

Agree, the whole Marlon thing is going to mean even more horrendous 'acting' from him...

Another excellent episode. Marlon was thankfully reduced to a minimal role in favour of Tony Audenshaw and Michael Parr.

I'll give Emmerdale credit here! (I love it anyway)

We ALL knew Donna was going to die.......but how???

No-one suspected a double-suicide over the edge of a high building!!

Good on YTV and Emmerdale for keeping it secret with no 'Spoilers' !

Fantastic acting from Verity, Tony and Michael in this week's eps. Donna and Ross were a great pairing - fab chemistry. Shame it all had to end so soon.

I do hope Donna has left Ross a letter or something, so he knows she did really love him - but wishful thinking I suspect.

For me the Cameron story was ruined by being drawn out way too long, while the pacing of this one has been great. I was also annoyed by the lack of Nikhil at the reveal, and the story being all about Debbie at the end.

yes he said on twitter he was on holiday at the moment.

I think The storyline has been very well acted but there's more to come. I did think Ross and Donna had very good chemistry and what made the story so utterly heartbreaking.

really hope they get some awards this time
