I think as far as Ross was concerned the plan was always going to be him getting rid of the car, Donna and the cops catching thingy on the roof after she stunned him with her taser and then himself, Donna and AdorableApril would ride off into the sunset. Donna telling him she didn't love him put the kibosh on that though as he decided he couldn't leave it like that and went back. Think Donna will manage to keep her reputation and will go down as a hero cop who fell to her death after apprehending a paedo. Agreed. Though a part of me feels she sent Ross off with the car because she intended to die on the job and had left a message elsewhere confirming she did love him. Her actions on the roof seen a little too organised and pre arranged.
Donna took the best option to preserve April's future. To die while trying to apprehend a baddy will come with a big payout from the Police force and rid Yorkshire and the surrounding areas of another gangster.
Well done to her!!!
Verity has also proven she is a much better actor than the average soap actress and will continue to thrive proffesionally as a theatre actress very well away from the Dales, as she has done over the last 5 years during her break.
