I thought the whole emmerdale storyline was over rated until tonight, wow amazing stuff! Very good! Very! The type of storyline EastEnders desperately need!

It would suit EastEnders, it's true.

A bit of action. Or something quite dramatic needs to happen in the Lucy s/l pretty quick.

Yeah! Lol! Just earlier Lou was saying how much she thought EastEnders would benefit from turning into Hollyoaks!

Although, I must agree in some aspect, Lou. I hadn't been interested in watching since the Cameron siege/flood storyline. However good this Donna/Ross business was, it wasn't as good as the Cameron storyline, but that was simply amazing, IMO.

I think Eastenders under DTC has forced the others to up their game. There are more surprises in all the soaps now it's great!

Emmerdale really pulled it out the bag with this storyline. Such a shame Moron was involved heavily but you can't have it all ways (unless you're Katie)

I think the woman who plays Moira in ED played Gemma, Max's mistress when he first arrived on the square.

Emmerdale is where all the action is, Hollyoaks for stunts, EastEnders for consistency & Corrie for clapped out ice cream vans.

Breaking Bad/Trerminal Cancer/Happy Valley/Bonnie&Clyde type affair.

EE has it's very own Breaking Bad storyline with Jacksonberg. Cancer sufferer starts peddling drugs etc. The scene where she kept telling Ian to 'SAY MY NAME ' was a bit much though

Funny thing is if Eastenders had been the one to do that storyline, people would've hated it regardless.

It's the "in" thing.

Yup, I agree with this also. It would have been too sensational and grand for EastEnders.

I suppose every soap is supposed to be different.

No. I liked it. Was it the fact that Ian tripled himself after she said "you're damn right" that made you think it was a bit much. ?

Nope, I clearly said I didn't want it turning into hollyoaks, however it wouldn't hurt them to do a few storylines the other soaps do:P like serial killers, rape storylines etc... Dtc has done a good job, he's made EE better but there's still a long way to go, I really hope the autumn is better because the summer hasn't been fantastic

Eastenders definitely needs it's grittiness back, but I think it's getting there. There needs to be some darker storylines.

Yes! That's all it needs to be! Just about grittier and they've pretty much done it! I just miss scenes like stacey jumping on trinas coffin, and max being buried alive! I think if it got them kind of scenes back, it would be brilliant!

I think storylines and scenes should be more raw. I know EE used to and probably still has a reputation of all the characters being unhappy, but I think that's when it's at its best - portraying real life storylines where people are overcoming hardship and tough times. Carol's cancer storyline has been a good example of this, but all the money problems (Bianca, Kat and Alfie) haven't been explored enough to make the viewers care.
