I agree.
All too often on this forum several people's posts are undermined with the now cliched response "It doesn't matter, after all it's all for charity"
But let's be realistic, the Beeb want ratings for their show, so it's not as though it's an entirely altruistic exercise on their part.
There are benefits for the BBC from gaining good ratings.
A BBC radio station promoting a BBC television show.
If it's all a bit of fun for charity then they should just relax with the hype crap and let fate take it's course.
It seems to be a pattern here with BBC reality shows where celebrities are involved.
Their celebrity reality shows are always won by BBC celebrities.
It was the same with both of the Strictly Come Dancing shows.
Maybe a coincidence, but
if the BBC are hyping up their own celebrities, then in turn it benefits the BBC if they in turn use these same celebrities in their own forthcoming programmes.
It might be nice to think that the BBC are truly altruistic in their motives, but it's not as though a cynical appraoch can't also be playing it's hand here as well.
I suppose they can do this if they want if it's their own channel, but I have to say it puts me off a bit.
Especially when the recent report on the BBC said that in the future they intend to put less emphasis on ratings, and more emphasis on integrity.
