And since we can't take how they perform tonight into account when we vote, unless we manage to squeeze in a txt, it's even harder to feel that the final result has the same sort of meaning as what's happened so far.

A win for Ade might make everyone reasonably happy, I don't know. (I'd still like Kim to win though.)”

As I've said I'm not bothered who wins just wanted Ade, Kim and Edith inthe final but what is going on with Colin is making me wish someone other than Edith had got in the final, what with her been on live everyday and now all this vote Edith coming from Radio 1 it just makes me wonder just how much Edith is aware of what Colin had planned.

I don't know why anyone's surprised, this is exactly what happened last time, I'm sure they closed the voting lines earlier than 7pm and there was not even an option of text voting on the last performance. They knew who the winner was before the performance.

If Kim wins it's been fixed very cleverly!

The end game was building up nicely to a really mighty climax. It feels now that the last 10 days have built up to a complete anti-climax.

Now I just feel it's been tainted quite a lot.

Seems like the pooorest planning ever. I never thought the BBC could make such a bad a miscalculation as this with the timing.

”

What's sad too is the majority of people won't know they can't vote until they tune in at 7pm tonight for Comic Relief.

Just as the text voting lines close!

Stand alone final on the Thursday from the academy
in future!

the thing that gets me about this is they mentioned all about the lines closing before Comic Relief starts tonight but that you would still text vote.

I think thhis guarantees a Kim win sadly. She got the majority of the vote yesterday, and Ade won't pick up all the votes he'd have got from people watching it for the first time for Comic Relief. Edith might do better 'cos I imagine Radio 1 listener's are the texting type (age ratio etc.) but I don't think that'll do it.

I think it's most unfair for the people who will watch for the first time tonight....they won't have any opportunity at all to vote

Well I agree with you completely.

The final day of any reality show makes the most amount of money.
So having the final, but closing the lines before the show even starts loses them a massive amount of money.

If they had the final before the day of Comic Relief then they have the potential for an excellent closing show, plus they have the bonus of earning an enormous amount of money for Comic Relief.
But by closing the lines at 7pm they lose that potential money that could easily amount to be a million pounds in itself.

It just doesn't seem to make much sense to do it the way that they are right now. They are losing out on bringing in an enormous amount of money.

Sadly I agree with you, as soon as Kim's name was read out last night, for me that was confirmation that she had won. Not that I really expected any other outcome.

Thanks for the early warning Moody Ms, my vote has just gone in for Kim.

I can't understand in this day and age why the phone lines have to stop, before the students sing for the pledge lines

Yeah totally agree all the campaigning by Colin for Edith on Radio 1 isn't fair

And I can't understand in this day and age why they didn't have the foresight to set up seperate lines if they insisted on having the final on the same day as Comic Relief.

It doesn't make sense. Are they trying to tell us that Comic Relief only has 3 phone lines?

Won't the Fame Academy lines bring in the most money out of most of all of the other Comic Relief lines?

Surely they have the capability to sort these logistics out well in advance.

I know it's not much of a consolation, but at least Colin is on the Radio and we don't have to see his fixed cheesey smile.

Doubt that they only have 3 phone lines, don't forget the lines Comic Relief use are given free for the night so once they go on air tonight all the lines being used by FA are transferred over to CR.

A lot of them will be jammed with people asking how do we vote?

Well in that case Kim should not be allowed to have appeared on Eastenders before the shows either, complete with BBC anouncements to vote for her to win FA. You have a point with Ade though, he has had an unfair disadvantage in all this.

Don't watch the BBC much then as they have said about nominating all of them at one time or another

I know some are saying its just for charity so it doesnt matter who wins etc but at the end of the day it was a competition. It does feel like we are cheated out of an exciting climax. I dont see why they couldnt have built the tension through the night getting us to vote like mad. It could have raised millions of votes and plenty of dosh in the kitty.

At the end of the day the BBC didnt expect it to be that successful and screwed up on phone lines.

I think all of that is exactly right.

It was building up to a great final, and now it's mixed in with lots of other stuff and we won't even be able to vote properly.

I'm very disappointed too But I tell you what after 7pm why don't we all just work out what we would have spent in that extra time voting for our favourite, and then just phone up and donate it anyway.

seems a bit pointless having a mystery judge on tonight ...whoever that is ? if no one can vote
