EE: Why!? Why!? Why!?

Great episode tonight except for one thing that ruined it for me;

Abi not getting into Liverpool. I hope to God she's lying and is really saying she didn't get in because she's afraid to leave Jay. Why can't they just have one kid go off to uni. As much as I love Abi's character she's come to the natural end of her child/teen arc and I think its time she went off and came back as an adult, but it looks like she's set to become another depressed teen.

I agree, it's infuriating that they can't just let her pass her exams. She's done more revision than all the other youngsters put together, and it gives the wrong impression that hard work gets you nowhere when of course that isn't true. If they want to keep her in the show they could just send her to Johnny's uni.

I think that's what they might do, or like Johnny, her wish to "sort it" may result in going to a uni in London - she stays with Jay as well as goes for her dreams.

I think they might want to keep her in the show for Ben's return and the climax of the Lucy Beale storyline, in which case I agree that they should have her go off to Johnny's uni until the end of those storylines and then have her finally get the grade she needs to transfer to Liverpool and we can heavy heartedly wave goodbye to her until she gets her degree.

Plenty of places she can study in London, at least its better then when Libby first started going to Oxford and commuted there daily/had loads of 'study periods' lol

Its just a plot device to keep her in the show so she will find a place in London.

I just looked up Bolton University and they don't even do a course in animal biology. Could at least make it realistic

Sorry, but I thought apart from a few scenes, tonight's episode was dreadful! nothing exciting and a terrible cliffhanger, I hope abi goes to whatever universirty, she should become a recurring character as she's extremely annoying!

But surely not everybody is successful. She represents those who are just not bright enough to get into university.

Abi looks pretty smart. And getting into uni doesn't automatically mean you're bright...

And considering everything that's happened over the last while, I'm not surprised she had a hard time with her exams.
