Why does Sharon meet Marcus in the Albert?
Clackers
16-08-2014
I can't understand, when Marcus knows he will get killed if he ever bumps into Phil, why he agrees to meet Sharon sitting there in full daylight like a regular punter in THE BLOODY ALBERT! Phil owns half of that place doesn't he? Why would he not just pop in one day and see Marcus there?

He spends so long undercover, identity change etc, and then at the drop of a hat (perhaps literally ) he comes back to Sharon with no disguise and actively plans to thwart Phil in "Phil's Manor"?

I know it's Soapland, but it is so unrealistic. At least have future meetings at the Allotment or something... (although I bet Patrick would spot them ).

Or Heaven forbid in his office?
Like you say its utterly ridiculous writing.

Sharon may as well have an 'Operation Rinse Phil' wallplanner in the lounge!

Maybe they both like the thrill of the risk of being caught. Or perhaps Marcus doesnt want Sharon at his office because he uses a different name now and might not want her revealing his real one to his colleagues. Still doesnt make sense to meet at the albert though. They should just pick a neutral venue away from the square

Also off topic but is Sharon paying Marcus to help or is she blackmailing him to help? It wasnt really clear to me if she's paying him but she did say she'd tell Phil if he didnt help her.

She threatened him to help but I imagine she'll cut him in. Den did exactly the same.

Sharon's manor. Sharon decides where she meets Marcus. He doesn't have a say in the matter. He knows not to cross the Watts.

Spoiler
Marcus will rip off both Sharon and Phil and take over the garage and the Albert. He will turn them into Walford Fried Chicken shops (WFC) and make Phil And Sharon work there.

Sharon may as well meet Marcus in her kitchen whilst Phil sits in the living room next door. Haven't you heard that all rooms in soapland are soundproofed? You can have loud, often incriminating conversations and the people in the next room don't hear a thing.

Well Den heard Angie telling the Barman that she was lying about having a terminal illness but yeah i agree in general it is stupid the amount of times incriminating conversations are missed to drag out a storyline.

Sharon can't leave her immediate surroundings. If a resident attempts to leave one of their three allocated streets they get beaten back by a malevolent eerie mist that can only be temporarily defeated by the presence of Julia's theme.

Yes at least it gets some use, no one in the square seems to go there

It is utterly ridiculous but given that nobody is allowed to leave Albert Square (Phil would probably follow her if she got on a tube as it is so unusual) it is marginally safer than the house which is the only other place she has easy access to.

It is a total SOR though, they should just meet somewhere nuetral elsewhere in London as others have said.

Sounds like that old programme The Prisoner. They'd be chased down the street by a big balloon

The Albert is clearly shrouded in an invisible forcefield whenever Marcus is around
