Did Mick make a mistake lying to Stan?
What would you have done in his position?
I can't see how Mick is ever going to get out of this one, and I can't see how the Carters are ever going to be the same again. ![]() If only he admitted the truth to Stan the other night, it would have been ok. I was distraught when he lied to Stan and said he did pay to have sex.

The whole story line is beyond preposterous. Ian is NOT Mick's friend. He's only just met him. How does Mick actually know that Ian isn't the murderer and therefore his lie could be doing so much more harm than good.
Mick should be more considerate and have more care for his own family who have to suffer because of this lie and to what end It's certainly not helping to find the Lucy's murderer. In fact the investigation is being hampered because of this lie. The police know Ian is lying but not what about so they are concerning themselves about this and taking away from looking elsewhere. If Mick was truly a caring individual and a friend of Ian's he'd have talked some sense in to him and made him see he has to come clean. His false good man persona is protecting the little scrote that is Ian and not helping one little bit to find Lucy's killer. |

I personally find the storyline realistic enough, it makes sense to me that Mick would be the kind of guy who would love to be a hero for somebody like Ian, especially as a loving father, which Mick most definitely is, I don't find it unrealistic, I just find it slightly annoying. I really hope with all my might that the truth about Mick comes out at some point because it's a black mark on his name in the square right now and it annoys me, Ian happily letting him take the blame makes Ian unlikeable, more than he should be, in my opinion too.

Not surprised really, Mick's set on protecting Ian from the backlash if people found out the truth and he's not likely to fully trust Stan to keep quiet. Plus, Stan wouldn't let it drop until he was satisfied that Mick gave him a straight answer about the situation.

If Mick is such a loving father then how can he put his children through this embarrassment and disgrace I personally think it's out of character and ridiculous. |

The whole storyline needs to end, this isn't going to get EastEnders back to the top, dragging out filler storylines is a big mistake, this storyline has been going on way to long, if rainie had been killed now by someone it would add a bit of excitement to it but it's all so boring now and just involves more carter crap...
It's a damaging, ridiculous and stupid story line.

The thing I find most ridiculous is the idea that suddenly no one wants to drink at the Vic because Mick apparently slept with a prostitute. Would anyone actually care that much?

The storyline is really confusing, I don't 'get' the lying to Stan thing, or what the motivations are? The actions and dialogue reek of having a writer behind it, a writer who is milking every bit of conflict that they can.
Why not just say "No, I didn't sleep with a prostitute, end of.", It's not like everyone is going to take that and go, "Oh it must have been Ian Beale then!!" The pub losing customers over it is so 1970's too... |

I would've thought the pub would be busier if anything with people coming in for the gossip.

It's funny that everyone's judging Mick on the Square for supposedly sleeping with a prostitute yet in Corrie, everyone happily forgets that Tracy Barlow is a murderer.

Unless of course he is the killer.
Good point though as Mick could actually be protecting Lucy's killer. I'm assuming this rules Mick out as why would he lie and possibly put himself in the firing line. Though he is quite stupid

Mick's biggest mistake was lying for Ian in the first place. How long is Ian going to use his dead daughter as an excuse for getting away with things? I'm surprised Ian doesn't get everything for free because he's got a dead daughter.
Heck, I'm surprised Ian 'ma Luccccy' Beale hasn't been offered the role of Mayor of London. He's such an inspiration. |

I think he has made a mistake yes, he could have just told Stan the truth, I know he wants to help Ian out but saying he slept with a tart is too extreme and going way too far and it makes me wonder if he's got an ulterior motive that might involve who killed Lucy!
