EastEnders create your own family
james_killroy
17-08-2014
I have an idea. Create your own EastEnders family

They can be as big as you want and related to who you want. So for example, they could be an extension of the Beale's, Masood's or Slater's etc.

I will give people one month. Then once enough entries have been put forward I will start another thread with a poll and forum members can vote for the best suggested new family.

Great idea! How many entries are we allowed? I have an unlimited amount of entries I like to put forward…

I will limit it to two per person. That way it won't effect the poll as I'm not sure how many people will put idea forward yet

The Yates Family

Bob Yates

Proud Dad, works as a Tube driver and has done for many years. Likes a good pint, and a pickled egg every day!! Looks out for his own and soon becomes a friend to Les and Pam.

Margi Yates

You can totally see where Daughter Donna gets it from when meeting Margi. She is loud, brash and is never without her motorcycle helmet. She has ridden a Harley for years and often goes off on trips on it... a tough old bird, she soon ruffles feathers and wastes no time in making enemies on the square.

Barry Yates

Barry was named after the legend Barry Sheen by his Mum, who dotes on him. He has recently returned home after a *blip* in his marriage to Marina. See's himself as a bit of a Romeo... Looks out for sister Donna and his younger Brother.

Marina Yates

Works at the local food bank. She always has a worthy cause that needs her time and is the first too go rescue a chicken, or join a rally. She recently found out she had something wrong with her ovaries, which means she can't have kids. Has a love hate relationship with sister in law Donna.

Jenson Yates

just turned 16 and is bi Sexual, He is single but makes no excuses for who he is, of what he is...His moto is "live every day as If it's your last " .. He is a bit of a rouge, smokes weed, skateboards, has tattoos. He spots a chance too make some hard cash when arriving in Walford by opening up a bread stall selling his home mad bread.

I'm surprised EE hasnt had a Tube driver before and Jenson is the type of guy you kind of see everywhere!

I've had these ones for a while:

Trish Harper (Camille Coduri) 48
A no nonsense businesswoman and successful estate agent with her own firm. I can see HARPER HOMES moving onto what is now the car lot with a permenant building in place. Divorced; her ex-husband still sees the kids and is played by Colin Baker.

Chloe Harper (Bonnie Wright) 22
Always wants to look good, her mum''s BFF they always go shopping together. Chloe however has problems with bulimia which she hides - she becomes obsessed with weight and image despite working her way up to Chief Barmaid in the Albert. Eventual Queen Vic landlady.

James Harper (this is the character I'd want to play!!) 25
James is a hard working good young man but has found it hard to fly the nest. He works as his mum's clerk but secretly wants a new job - preferably managing the R&R. James is probably straight but the odd guy catches his eye - he has a daughter he fathered aged 15 that he doesn't know about yet

Ruby Trent (Tracy Childs) 50
'Aunty Ruby' is Trish' s sister, always good for a laugh - the soft alternative to the quite brash/no nonsense sister. Always a shoulder to cry on. Trish & Ruby do however get on very well and enjoy a Friday night bottle of wine .

Extension to The Slaters

Talia Brookes (Slater)
Age: 20
Occupation: ?
Played By: ?

Talia discovered she was the daughter of Harry Slater a few years ago after her mother revealed the truth of her paternity but revealed Harry had died from a heart attack. She's spent the past few years tracking down the Slaters, and finally shows up at Charlie's, who is stunned after believing Harry had no children. Knowing the damage Harry did to his family, Charlie lies to Talia and tells her he has no idea where any of his children are, but she later steals details out of Charlie's address book and heads to Albert Square. Talia finds Kat and the Slaters at number 23, but is intercepted by Charlie. Despite Charlie's reluctance,Talia reveals the truth to Kat and the rest of the Slaters, but is kicked out by Mo after she can see how much Talia's presence is affecting Kat. When Talia's mother dies of a lung condition, Talia shows back up in Walford desperate for somewhere to go. Kat and Stacey have a heart to heart and Kat decides that she can't hate Talia for what Harry did, so welcomes Talia to stay with them. Talia is a typical Slater; feisty, out-going, loves men and is very good at scheming, which makes her feel right at home with the rest of the family.

(I know she doesn't have any different to her but The Slaters need some more cheeky story lines to take them back to how they were, and Talia will be very much like how both Stacey and Kat were when they joined the square).

I'd bring Gary Lucy back as Danny Pennant and expand his family on the show.

Mother - Marilyn Pennant. (Lorraine Chase)
A strong minded woman that defends her family no matter what. Works as a beauty therapist and not afraid to let people know when they may be in need of a makeover. What you see is what you get with her? She's the glue that holds the family together when confronted by a crisis. She knows about her sons relationships with men but has never spoken to him about it and attempts to keep her husband in the dark.

Father - Graham Pennant. (Simon Rouse).
An ex fireman that now drives a cab. Hot headed and quick to confront people without thinking things through, doesn't like the fact that his wife has to constantly apologise for his behaviour and attempt to patch things up with people he's upset. No idea his son has experimented with his sexuality and is a man with strong traditional values.

Brother - Andy Pennant (Jonathon Kerrigan)
Trained as a doctor and always praised by his parents, has a rivalry with Danny as they both try to gain their fathers respect. Charming and seductive but happily married and unaware of his wife growing restless and bored due to the amount of time he spends at work. Marilyn can see the cracks appearing and tries to guide her son in an effort to help him keep his marriage.

Sister-in-law - Joanne Pennant (Lisa Faulkner)
Married to Andy since late teens and had a happy marriage, due to his work commitments she's feeling lonely and starting to get fed up in their relationship. Has a good relationship with Marilyn and sees her as a mother figure after her own mother died early on in life, however Graham thinks she holds Andy back. Knows about Danny and has confronted him about it with him warning her to stay quiet or he'll tell Andy her secrets.

Niece - Jessica Pennant (Abby Mavers)
Recently out of education and in need of a job, she's spoiled and mouthy leading to numerous clashes between herself and her parents. Andy tries to treat her like a child and doesn't want to admit she is growing up. She rebels against how controlling he is often throwing herself at men and staying out making her parents worry. When she finally realises her parents may be drifting apart she attempts to make things work between them.

The Gibson Family

Backstory

The Gibson Family move to Albert Square to find the father of the Gibson triplets to help financially with the kids and there are also some unsettled debts and suprises for The Beales.

Name:
Penelope "Penny" Gibson
Age: 25-35
Occupation: Businesswoman
Most likely to say: "Sex sells"

Profile:
Penny Gibson was a sheltered child, she was mollycoddled from birth by her overbearing controlling parents and the second she turned 18 (literally the midnight of her 18th birthday) she ran away to London to live with her Aunt Mel and her cousins and pursue her dreams of becoming an actress instead of getting a law degree like her parents had planned. Penny couldn't get into a drama school, so instead she joined a free acting class and became an exotic dancer along with her Aunt Mel to sustain herself. Eventually exotic dancing turned into stripping, stripping turned into prostitution and prostitution turned to drugs and after her Aunt Mel died of a heroin overdose Penny took her younger cousins back to Devon to live with her parents, except her parents took in their niece and nephew, but rejected and disowned their prodigal daughter. So Penny returned to London and carried on prostituting, but she quit the drugs and saved the money and worked her way up to being a strong, independant businesswoman. But what business does she own? Did the sex industry swallow her up or did the aspiring actress shine through in the end? Is she a goodie or a baddie?
Name: Gary "Gaz" Gibson / Leanne Gibson
Age: 21/19
Occupation: Works for his older cousin Penny / Mother
Most likely to say: "Come on then, if you think your hard enough" / "Gaz, I'm sorry".

Profile:
Gaz grew up in East London with his sister Leanne and heroin addict mother Mel, because of his reckless mother, Gaz became super protective of his younger sister and would always look out for her and so when their mother died and they had to go and live with their Aunt and Uncle in Devon. Gaz swore to protect Leanne with his life. Gaz and Leanne lived with their Aunt and Uncle in Devon next door to Bev, Gina and Cindy Williams. When Peter and Lucy moved to Devon, they became close friends with Gaz and Leanne, until Leanne jeopardised her friendship with Lucy by sleeping with her twin brother Peter resulting in Lucy leaving Devon and returning to Walford. Gaz and Peter began a tempestuous rivalry until they finally made up when Peter vowed to never go near Leanne again. Peter was still in love with Leanne and found it hard to see her with her new boyfriend, but he valued his friendship with Gaz, but one day Peter couldn't help himself and had a steamy one night affair with Leanne, only to have Gaz catch them in the act. Gaz then makes a pact with Cindy to scare Peter off back to Walford. One night Gaz gets Peter really drunk and they decide to go swimming and Gaz fakes his death to make Peter believe he's allowed Gaz to die. Gaz leaves Devon unnanounced to stay with his cousin Penny in London, while keeping in contact with Cindy. Knowing it would shake him up, after Peter tells Cindy about what has happened, Cindy spooks Peter out by making him feel guilty and feeding him horror stories about what Mr Gibson would do if they found out. Eventually, Peter is scared off to Walford and Gaz returns to Devon to find out that Leanne and her boyfriend are expecting a baby. After overhearing a conversation by Mr and Mrs Gibson and their plans for Leanne's baby, Gaz encourages Leanne to go and stay with her boyfriend's family while he goes to stay with Penny in London. After Leanne gives birth, she arrives in London to stay with Gaz after her boyfriend throws her and her triplets out after finding out he isn't the father. Gaz then realises they must make a trip to Walford to find out if Peter is the father of Leanne's triplets

Name: Sienna Gibson / Ash Gibson / Amber Gibson
Age: 1
Occupation: triplets
Most likely to say: "Goo Goo Gaa Gaa" "Gimme daddy" "Waaaaaaaaaah!".

Profile: These Beale triplets get their multiple baby gene from their father Peter, aunt Lucy and their ancestors Pete and Pauline. Peter wants to be a father to them but he doesn't want to drive a wedge between him and his fiance Lauren Branning. Lauren gives Peter an ultimatum, he can be a father, but only to one of them. which will be th lucky triplet? Or unlucky triplet?

Extension to the Carters

Nana Elaine - played by Vicki Michelle
Elaine is Linda Carter's long-suffering mum. Born in Whitechapel in 1950, she has been working in pubs for 46 years. Her first job was as a barmaid in a pub near the Columbia Road Flower Market where she met a local lad, John, and they moved to Canning Town and bought a pub there. They had two children, Leanne (b. 1973) and Linda (b. 1977). John died in 1992, a few months before the birth of her grandson Lee, and ever since then she has a been a bitter woman who annoys her family. Living alone in her pub in Watford, she hasn't seen her daughter Leanne in almost 25 years.

Leanne Biggs - played by Denise van Outen
Leanne was born in Canning Town to John and Elaine. Growing up, she was best friends with Tina and knew Mick very well. However, since the age of 13 she had been abused by her father, John, and refused to tell anyone. Leanne finally told her mother, Elaine, but she refused to believe her and kicked her out when she was just 17. Linda thought that Leanne just left out of her own accord. Leanne never returned for her father's funeral however Mick reveals to Aunt Babe that she saw Leanne in Canning Town on the day of her father's death. Did she kill her father? Will she get revenge on her mother?
Since leaving home, Leanne has got herself into trouble and ended up marrying a criminal named Dan Pearce in Hackney. They had a daughter called Lola, but Leanne decided to abandon her child when she was just 3 and left her with Dan's adoptive mother who was unable to look after Lola. She has turned her life around and has become a businesswoman but is not prepared to let her dark past ruin her.

Tom Biggs - played by Nick Moran
Tom is Leanne's husband and they have been married for 14 years. Like his wife, he's a businessperson but he is more like Johnny Allen than Ian Beale. He may sound and look like a cheeky chappy but Tom Biggs is a dark person. Tom had a tough life growing up in Leyton, to a single mother who was always on the bottle and turned to gangs when he lacked a father figure. He does love Leanne and his son but he knows her darkest secrets. When Leanne betrays her by having an affair what will he do to his wife's lover and his cheating wife? And what will Leanne do if he oversteps the mark?

Harry Biggs - played by some child actor
Harry is the archetypal Mummy's boy. Leanne adores him whereas Tom is a bit cold towards him (probably wishes he had a boy). He might be 13 but is a troublemaker like his parents?

So there you go, the Biggs an extension to the Carter family?

The Karakaya Family

Murat Karakaya (48)

A shrewd businessman. Born in Turkey, he moved to London to study at 18 and has lived in the city ever since. He's Muslim but not very strict. He likes to gamble, drinks frequently and only visits Walford's mosque very occasionally, usually when he needs a favour. After being self employed nearly his entire workingly life Murat finds it difficult to get a new job in Walford and decides to start up a new business with one of Walford's business men (Phil, Ian, Max?), a decision which greatly annoys Steffi.

Steffi Karakaya (41)

Born and bred East Londoner. Steffi took a job at Muart's real estate office 19 years ago and the two have been together ever since. Steffi was Murat's secretary before the move, now she holds fort at home. Steffi's mother and older brother also live in the East End but she rarely sees them. Steffi's mother developed Alzheimer's and had to go into care and Steffi doesn't like to visit as it upsets her, an issue her brother, Simon, raises each time he visits. He sees it as a betrayal.

Zehra Karakaya (18)

Murat and Steffi's rebellious daughter. Zehra wants to study faishion in London. Murat and Steffi quietly wish she'd chosen a more academic path but will happily support her anyway. Zehra was raised Muslim as Murat and Steffi both agreed religion is good for a child but no longer practices the faith. Her Turkish identity is not a strong one, all her friends call her Sarah. She is in a relationship with one of her teachers, a secret she's only shared with Sean.

Sean O'Driscoll (18)

Zehra's gay best friend and the son of Murat's former business partner has been taken in by the Karakayas until he finishes college. Sean's alcoholic mother left when he was young and his father has just been sent to prison for fraud. Sean has no time for his father and refuses to visit him in prison. Sean feels guilty for keeping Zehra's secret from her parents who he feels have done a lot for him. Sean is not looking for a boyfriend and is happy living the single life although he wishes he had a place to bring his hook-ups.

Nevin Karakaya (74)

Nevin is Murat's mother who moved from Turkey a few months ago following her husbands death. She's never left Turkey, doesn't speak a word of English, and has not taken well to London life. She disapproves of Murat and his family's un-Islamic lifestyle. She frequently gets under Steffi's feet and rebuffs all of her daughter in laws attempts to teach her English. Nevin has also begun trying to find Zehra a good Turkish boy. Despite all this disapproval and interference, she has a curiously strong affection for her new English grandson, Sean.

The Story - The Karakoyas packed up and moved ostensibly because Sean's father, Patrick, committed fraud and sunk Murat's business after borrowing money from local mobsters in a desperate attempt to keep it afloat. In reality, it was Murat's taking money from the business to fund his own gambling addiction that sunk the business. Murat and Steffi took Sean in to ease their own guilt. These revelations, visits from the mobsters Murats owes money to, the drama surrounding Zehras much older boyfriend, and Nevins constant interference make up the bulk of the Karakayas storylines.

Daphne became very pretentious and showy offy and her younger sisters hated her for it, but it is all just a facade to hide the truth that Carl King isn't actually pilot that travelled around the world, he was a kingpin drug dealer and well known under various names in the underground circuit and he would go away for weeks on end, sometimes months and return to the Fox household to emotionally and sexually use Daphne. Carl King was Lucas Johnson's mentor and introduced him into the business, he also taught Lucas about how to lead a double life. Carl King also knows Babe Smith very well. Daphne and Carl had three children Curtis, Marley and Vaughan and Carl visits them very sporadically. Daphne and her eldest son Curtis know of Carl's secret life and they think that Ada is unaware, but Ada prefers to live in blissful ignorance and doesn't bat an eyelid to the mental and emotional torment her family suffer from.
