Anybody else think that Cindy Williams (Mimi Keene) will have a long term future with EastEnders like Lacey did, she started out at 16, Mimi is now 16 too.

I just don't see the point of this character. She's not Ian's daughter, she's not Bobby's sister, Peter doesn't really like her, Lucy (who also didn't care for her) is dead, and she has no friends besides Liam. Also we have seen Lola go through a teenaged pregnancy fairly recently. I don't see what the character adds to the show. Perhaps she killed Lucy and that's her purpose for being in the cast.

I agree. I don't see what her purpose is. She is not a member of the Beale family. Her only relative is half-brother Peter and he doesn't care for her at all. Ian already took on one of Cindy's illegitimate children when he brought up Steven and he got nothing but bother for all his efforts. So I can understand his reluctance to take on Cindy Jnr. I don't think the writers have anything planned for her judging by the clichéd teenage pregnancy plot. I think they just wanted to have another 'Cindy' in the cast for nostalgia purposes.

Yes I think she does imo, we are too quick to write younger characters off before giving them a chance.

Would we have the likes of Janine and Stacey now if we listen to people who hated them back when they were younger and might of wish for them to be axed, I don't personally think so.

nor do I think it really matters much she not that connected to people; Cindy is Peter's half sister that's enough of a connection, it's understandable his not close, he didn't grow up with her.

for example Stacey had dubious connections to the Slater's she was Charlie great niece and Kat's second cousin, Lola is Billy's granddaughter from a son he new nothing about til he was dead etc

Obviously with this Lucy murder s/l her time on the show could be up in the air if she has anything to do with it, I guess we're see.

The actress is good but the character is boring, they should have saved Mimi for when a better character came up.

Difference with Steven was Ian thought he was his father for a few years of his early life so had bonded with him as his 'first' born so was much easier for him to carry on raising him as his own, Steven and the twin witness the various mothers go through out there life and he started to go nutty witnessing all his theses antics top with finding he found out Ian wasn't his dad, not surprising he turn out that way.

She could well be the new Stacey. She's an add-on to an established family, and I think she's a good little actress. Giving her a baby is a bizarre choice, why limit a character with a child when there are so many other routes to go down.

Her relevance and her pregnancy will become apparent once she returns. DTC knows what he is doing.

Some characters always start off a bit shakey before coming into their own, Stacey, Bradley, Jamie, Lisa. They are good examples of that and Lola being the most recent. Another character 'chav' people wanted axed now like.

I also think Mimi is suffering double standards because she is a beautiful looking mediterranean girl. Had the character been male and gay she would have the usual suspects singing her praises. Just saying

I think shes good, but her character is a bit boring and I really wish they hadn't done this boring teen pregnancy sl, ad least in Corrie with Fay (bad as it is) they are being a bit more original and making her 12.

I think they should have bought back Steven instead.

I think Cindy's father is David Wicks. This will tie her to Carol and with Bianca, Morgan & Tiffany leaving, she might become more important through that association. She also told everyone that TJ is the father but it's very possible that it's really Liam, which would further strengthen that relationship.

If David is her father that would make her Liam's auntie as he's David's grandson. Liam and Cindy have slept together which would be incest. I highly doubt the writers would go down this route.

I would prefer the father of her baby to be revealed as Liam though rather than TJ.

Unless Cindy Senior had the gestation period of an elephant then David Wicks can't be Cindy Junior's father.

Perhaps she's supposed to be a replacement for Lucy but even that is a stretch. If the intention was to have Ian and the kids embrace her as a proper family member then it has failed. She is treated like an outsider. A stranger pretty much.

I'll admit that at first I was very dismissive of Cindy however I do believe the actress has bags of potential so I would like to see her on the show long term.

I don't see the purpose of writing someone out because you can't see a purpose in them. You aren't a writer or part of the creative team of the show. Of course they can create a purpose for her.

I hope so.

I think the fact she's not a relation of Ian's makes her a more interesting character to have around and could create some interesting dynamics between them and Peter. They missed a trick not having Gangster Liam be the father of her child instead of Bald Alfie Jr.

She's also going to be really hot in a few years which is arguably the main trait I look for in a character

David 1st exit was in November 1996, Cindy was born November 1998, unless Cindy and David met up again before then it's impossible, when Original Cindy come back she was with Nick Holland, Cindy's bio father.

There would also be the awkward issue of Cindy and Liam sleeping together, she slept with Liam after she found out she was pregnant, it was his first time, so it isn't his, even though she made up before they had.

I hope she leaves as soon as she pops her baby out and goes back to being a non-existence forgotten character.

I think the actress has potential. The pity is that there are no other decent characters of her own age for her to work with and, dare I say it, the Beales are boring. Stacey was lucky enough to be a Slater and Lola had Abi, Billy and Jay. She's now saddled with a baby unless Jane takes over when she returns....the poor kid is doomed.
