What could EastEnders do to gain more viewers?

Right now viewing figures are very low! Bbc three figures are the lowest they have probably ever been, and even LN and BK brought in higher viewers...

Why do people think the viewers are so low, and what could they do to increase their figures? I think lots of advertisement, and more interesting plots...

Do a nudist episode featuring Peter Beale, Dexter, Johnny, Lee, Mick, Max, fatboy, Tamwar, aleks, Charlie, Ben and Jay....that would kinda do it for me

Not focus on the Carters all the time would be a start really.

Give Stacey a big issue led storyline that Lacey Turner will excel in and bring in loads of awards for the show. She's the most awarded soap actress in EastEnders history, they may as well play on that and use it to their advantage.

Even better. They should use their resources wisely and give Lacey a big storyline. We all know she'd absolutely nail it, she didn't win all of them awards for no reason.

Ross Kemp's return was a ratings winner in 2005/6, but storyline wise he didn't really do anything of note. I'd like Grant to return, but only if they had a proper storyline plan in place for him.

Agree, 100%! The carters will probably find a way of getting involved, somehow...

When the official figures include tablets and mobile devices EE figures will go up proportionally more than CS/ED. Hollyoaks as well.

A live episode ? I also think the channel BBCOne+1 will help people will be seeing more of it some more might tune in the hour later slot they might have reasons why they missed it an hour before and end up watching it on +1 later time because nothing else is on.

BK and LN brought in higher figures because it takes a long time to get people to switch off, and a long time to switch back on again.

Do not clash with either of the two senior soaps.

With it being shown on RTE and usually 5 minutes earlier cancel the deal those watch it on rte will then have to watch it on BBCOne. I don't think corrie or emmerdale gets shown on RTE does it?

Stacey has already been raped, widowed, had an affair with her husbands father, killed someone, been jailed and suffers from Bi-polar, as well as a load of other stuff... I think as far as storylines go, she is already pretty much exhausted, so piling any more issue based stuff on her will be ridiculous.

I don't understand why she was ever brought back tbh, what more can they do with her? Like Lola, she's already irritating me by feeling the need to mention her child's name in every single scene she is in.

I think Lucy's murder was a great idea to regain viewers, so credit to them for that, but the execution fell to pieces only a few episodes in and at this point I think it's fair to say the storyline is a bit of a flop, considering it was pinned as something unique and thrilling, when in actual fact, so far it has been just like every other bog standard who-dunnit, only drawn out at snail pace. I can't wait for it to be over and done with. At this point, I think the best thing to do would be to put that storyline on the back-burner until around christmas, because any more "I was (insert character doing something suspicious) on the night Lucy died" and I will scream.

It wouldn't make any difference, BARB doesn't count Irish viewers.

Yes and nothing is gained from it, it's just a gimmick.
