Lord knows how much I would love for this to happen, but sadly, I doubt he will ever return.
I suspect as much too. But oh man I'd be so excited if Santer re-joined the show!

I could see Peggy and Pam getting along having a laugh but no I don't think Peggy and Cora could ever be in the same room as one another ever. I can just see it now Peggy wanting to ring Cora's Kneck.
Would be brilliant

Santer was very hot towards the latter part of his era on eastenders (IMO)
I agree!

John yorke would probably be better than santer, santer was great, but I was never around to see yorkes era, however EVERYBODY talked about EastEnders back then, you could argue he is the greatest producer the soap had ever had, along with the wonderful Julia smith...

I think a lot of the cast are definitely getting bloated! DTC should have axed quite a few more characters when he took over and brought new ones in. I have to say I really like the new characters introduced. But I think for each of their introductions, a more deadwood character should have left.

Yeah there does seem to be a secrets epidemic on the square, they need to bring in Jeremy Kyle with his lie detectors pronto and sort it out!

John Yorke, Santer & DTC together is like a wet dream for EastEnders!
That would be bloody fantastic. And if you want to send DS into a complete frenzy, get Tony Jordan and Sarah Phelps on-board also!!! .

Yeah I remember watching the Kat & Zoe reveal week. It was so realistic! Everyone really nailed it. And I remember the who shot Phil was massively compelling. Everything was really bravely done. What is John York doing now anyways?

Absolutely! they come with high regard also! Imagine if the BBC really worked its butt off and got all these people working on EastEnders at the same time! People on here would be getting the bubbly out the fridge!

I hated Santer's era. The characters jumped from one overblown plot to the next with no followup. The entire cast seemed to operate independent of each other and stuck to their own family groups or friend groups. It didn't even feel like EastEnders most of the time. I was dreading DTC becoming executive producer because I thought that's what would happen again. Thankfully he's concentrated more on character development and letting the entire cast interact like a community. DTC would never have to contrive a silly book club as an excuse to get characters to interact because they already interact. The only thing he's missing out on are good storylines. Maybe he should ask Santer for a few ideas but that's it. Keep DTC at the helm. He's made a few mistakes (Carter and Beale domination being the main ones) but he's on the right track.
