Nice and fatty as well.

It pisses me off when I see slow cooked meat from lean cuts or with the fat taken off.

Or when people cook it in a slow cooker with liquid so all the fat renders out into the liquid.

I remember watching Jamie Oliver in America, where he went to this BBQ joint and they slow roasted a whole pig, and the guy who roasted it told him that the loin was the best bit.

Oliver was like "WTF, NO! the shoulder is the best bit" because of the fat.

I've noticed that American's seem to like slow roasted meats with all the fat absent or taken off so you end up with a tinned tuna constancy.

Like detective Murtaugh said in Lethal Weapon, "You kill the fat, you kill the burger"

Same applies to all cuts of meat!

Sorry for the rant.

I find the opposite. In the U.S. slow cooking is king and pulled pork and brisket over there shouldn't really be talked about on the same thread as a Sainsburys effort.

Slow roasting is king.

Not slow cooker cooking.

And I've noticed that when they do brisket they remove the top layer of fat, which is a joke.

I never mentioned slow cookers, that was you.

Yes, they know nothing about slow cooking brisket and pulled pork in the U.S., what a fool I was to think otherwise.

The Sainsbury's one is better than any ones I've had from Tesco, either fresh or frozen. Although the Tesco ones have plenty of fat within the joint, they don't have a nice slab of fat on the outside like the Sainsbury's one.

I do wish there was more BBQ sauce with it as I like to shred the meat, add the sauce and put it back in the oven for 10 minutes.
