The Bill returning? Spoilers

Ruth just said to Smithy on This Morning that "The Bill" might be returning to our T.V screens. What do you guys think? Smithy is due to be interviewed on there after the break I think so we might here more then.

Really miss The Bill and would love it to come back

Bad idea. They show went as far as it could. They would be better closing the Corrie knicker factory and turning it into a police station and incorporating storylines into that.

I liked it up until its final over the top dramatic run.

Bring it back with Polly Page as Chief Inspector.

I loved the show until its final few years. There's so little on TV now so I'd probably watch it now, even in its dying state.

I loved the show until its final few years. There's so little worth watching on TV now so I'd probably watch it now, even in its dying state.

Reg Hollis and Tony Stamp should be bent coppers who take back handers and pimp slap fools.

The amount of station explosions got ridiculous. The 90s was when The Bill was at its best.

I would love to see it back, but in the 2000s format, not the 9pm format.

I thought this was mentioned earlier this year in one of the newspapers and it apparently it was going to be like the bill

I think it's been mentioned over the last few months ITV are planning on a programme similar to The Bill in all but name.

Given that The Bill would be celebrating it's thirtieth birthday this year (if you discount Woodentop) it would be great to see ITV re-launch The Bill (IMHO) or at least celebrate one of it's best loved shows.

If they could look back over the archives and rely less on the soap opera format it could be unmissable viewing again.

Would love the Bill to come back

Yeah, relaunch The Bill. Seeing as it's essentially a drama set in a police station, they can revamp it quite easily.

Loved the Bill. I thoroughly enjoyed its last few seasons as well which seems to be a somewhat unpopular opinion.

I'd have thought more of the cast would have ended up in the other soaps sooner or later. Simon Rouse (Jack Meadows) or Alex Walkinshaw (Smithy) would be perfect for Eastenders.

If the camermen still have the shakes and the moody music comes back forget it

The original 30 min format at 830 on thursday would work.

I miss the Bill. And yes Polly Page as inspector would be great.

I would rather nail my eyelids to the floor than watch another series of the show it was in it's last few years.

I'd love this! Bring it back with Phil Hunter, Jack Meadows, Neil Manson, Gary Lucy's character (forgot his name), Smithy, Tony Stamp and Terry Perkins, loved them characters!

The Bill used to be absolutely unmissable.

I'll never forget that brilliant serial killer storyline which saw Cass (Rickman?) murdered by her boyfriend's sister.

Polly left the force & didn't she have a conviction as well?
