I guess for whatever reason, they're phasing in the updates rather than having one main update.

yeah - however, they have added naomi, yet kept in mason and callum, and not added paige or daniel or brennan.

Why is this? Daniel, Brennan & Paige are all regulars! and why are Mason and Callum in the credits?

This could simply be due to actor availability at the time of shooting the updates. I'm sure there is a logical explanation, as they've never done this before with updates.

Interesting to note, Naomi was the first of the 4 newbies (Naomi/Brennan/Daniel/Paige) to be moved on the end credits from the guest credits slide, to the main characters end credits slides. Daniel and Brennan only got transfered from guest to main on end credits last monday, UK Pace, so maybe next we will see them added to the opening titles. Paige for now at uk pace is still credited as guest....so maybe an even longer wait for her to make the opening credits?

The contract credits have nothing to do with the opening titles. Actors on guest contracts have been in the titles before (Ringo and Lolly), it's all to do with actor availability and scheduling/timing.

They couldn't add Naomi to the titles until Kyle's actor was back from his extended break because she lives with them and needed to be in the same shot in the current credit style. So I imagine that was shot quite a while back (and in the garden set as opposed to Ramsay Street).

Kate was easily removed because they already had a solo Paul shot (when he lived at the penthouse alone) and a shot of Number 26 without Kate (when she lived with Paul) so they only ever had to re-edit and use those alternate shots and then deliberately zoomed in on the pool shots to cut her out of them.

They couldn't replace Mason or Callum so easy as they are right there in the middle of both their respective shots, so they've held off until all the new arrivals were cast and onscreen and to when a decision was made about Scott McGregor (whether he's staying or leaving at the end of his guest contract) before they've started to shoot new titles.

By now nearly all of the shots need updated so I think they've been deliberately holding off in order to do a proper reshoot of the entire titles on one day and get it all edited and ready to go as one proper titles relaunch. The official instagram posted pictures recently of what looks like new titles being filmed in recent weeks (and this was when Morgana O'Reilly was in the UK) so in order to prepare for that, they've filmed her shot earlier than the rest.

Maybe beacuse they are too hard to edit out.

That said I hope Taylor Glockner is still getting a royalty fee/payment for STILL appearing in the credits 6 months after he left....
