Next week mick, linda, and ian are getting the 'doof doofs' and I am sick and tired of seeing them constantly on my screen, the whole rainie storyline is a stupid idea, there's so many better things they could come up with, and it looks asif the carter dominance continues!

If they're going to use a carter, why are we not seeing this phirley affair yet? They should hurry it up, as sharon and Phil's wedding is within a matter of weeks! Sort it out EastEnders and end these boring plots!

I agree with you. Getting really sick of the overexposure of the Carters. Mick and Linda are too overused. I wish we would get a break from the Carters. I'm fine with Shirley getting more airtime because she's an "original" Carter. But hopefully when autumn comes, EE will be more interesting when Ronnie, Jane and Stacey return full time.

Yes I agree, 3 great characters! The carters have become extremely annoying because it feels like they've taken over the show! I like shirley, she isn't even overused the way people make out she is! And she's a lot better at acting! She's a fantastic character! I find a lot of the other carters very dull! Mick, nancy, and lee aren't very EastEnders, I'm hoping to see micks angry side soon! That would give his character different layers! Nancy, lee, tosh, and dean, and also aunt babe should all be axed! Nancy is massively overrated! But tbf we've yet to see her shine!

If you want to put an end to the boring plots, why do you then request a Phil/Shirley affair? That's the most boring, unimaganitive, predictable story they could come up with.

Mick has become caught up in Ians prostitute shenanigans, as has Linda - its only a matter of time before the truth is going to come out, hence the inevitable doof doofs and Carter screen time

I don't think it's a Carter bashing thread but we have seen a LOT OF Mick, Linda and Tina. The rest of the Carters have taken a backseat and those three are front and centre and Mick/Linda have been in, what feels like, every episode. I love Shirley and I agree she isn't overused, like people say. She hasn't featured in the last week and she doesn't feature this week or much next week either. She is the originial Carter and I'm happy that she is being utilised better than last year, I hope this Phirley affair doesn't end up with Phil using Shirley though. Also we don't see enough Stan, imo - I want to find out more about him, his off hand comments about the past are intriguing. Ian/Rainie/Mick - ridiculous. Ian can't keep using Lucy to weasel out of everything and Mick risking everything for Ian doesn't ring true to me, not keen on Rainie either but you know, happy face. Haha.

I am looking forward to the return of Jane, she is one return that hasn't been a disappointment, now just to get Zainab back..

Thanks for understanding zainab was great! But is choose tanya and janine over zainab too many characters have departed IMO, and the carters don't seem to fill that hole! The problem with Stan, Nancy and lee is that no one wants them to get stories now as were used to seeing them just sitting around, so now if they get storylines, no one will be able to take them seriously, I'd definitely axe a few! Lee, dean and tosh NEED TO GO!

How can you even complain about Nancy when she hasn't done anything yet? Literally all you could judge her on is the way she collects the empty glasses. Probably best to leave her out of it for now, DTC obviously has plans for her which will stand out for the Carters once these current sl's have died down.

I'm not really fussed, I like the Carter scenes, they live in the Vic where most regulars go in for a sneaky pint in between work! Just like the Moons, the Mitchells, The Watts, people who live in the Vic, its natural for them to get a little more screen time than the others!
As long as the writing is good, there is little problem!

The balance is alright for the rest of the characters, but I want Dexter to get like 1 episode a year!

I have no problem with characters being overused as long as the writing and the storylines are good. It's not the numbers of a family it's how they're used IMO. The Brannings became unbearable because of the rubbish writing and abysmal storylines but I like what the Carters have been given so far

Also they own the Vic so it's natural that the family who run the pub will get airtime.

There are also plenty of other storylines going on aswell.
