I think she's a great character and actress. One of the last remaining traditional characters in Emmerdale.

I quite like Edna actually, so I'm glad she's getting a story. Maybe she gets a new hat. |

She’ll thank him to behave himself whilst he’s under her roof, so it could be the making of him I’m thinking.
If anyone can turn that rotten apple Aaron into a fine, upstanding young man, then it’s his new mum Edna. That street-urchin’s hoodie will have to go for starters, such aggressive attire simply won’t do, especially now he’ll be expected to regularly attend church. Hence I fully expect to see Aaron out and about the village now in a smart collared shirt, nicely ironed slacks, along with a well polished pair of sensible shoes. I’m particularly looking forward to the scenes where his new dad Sandy will beguile him with bedtime tales of Shakespeare, days of yore, and poems by Kipling, before tucking him in for the night at 8:30pm sharp and kissing him lovingly on the forehead. Hopefully he won’t end up chinning the old duffer like his last son, as that would be extremely disappointing. |

Edna is one of the best older characters in the show, glad she is getting some storylines at long last. Despite her being a long running character we haven't learnt a great deal about her past beyond a gay husband and raising her nephew as her own.

I thought Edna was against gay people because she is a christian, she seemed to take offence at Ruby and forty a day's baby plans

I like the look of this - nice to see that Kate Oates hasn't forgotten about the older characters in the show - I liked the scene with Sandy and Donna in the cafe the other night as well.

Evil old bag, handing over thug escapee arsonist Aaron and then sheltering him in her crime den. She can't be his drug dealer and his rehab therapist.

I remember her as Rose in the first episode of series one of Keeping Up Appearances:
Take a look from 4:20 > http://www.veoh.com/watch/v16744244a...arances+S01E01 I always much preferred her to NewHeadRose later. ![]() I can never reconcile Edna though with the prostitute she played in Personal Services in 1987! ![]() ![]() And not many people know this, but she comes from Dukinfield, where my Great-Aunty Bertha came from. ![]()

It's when I see her dressed as a bunny girl in carry on at your convenience that makes me laugh
