Ian, Sharon and Dot have been rejuvenated by DTC and I love it. Three of the characters have been on the show since 1985 onwards and I love that 3 characters are all interesting now.

Ian's big storyline is the aftermath of Lucy's death and I love Adam Woodyatt's acting. Ian's life has been changed forever and although he's a weasel (the Rainie storyline), he is definitely an interesting character now,

Sharon is back!! Her return was awful and she's been so unpopular for 2 years because Sharon has rubbish storylines and she's been an annoying woman who was acting out of character especially turning on Dot because of Denny. Sharon has the revenge storyline and she's now feisty and becoming her old self now. Let's hope Sharon destroys Philth.

Dot Cotton!! (She will always be a Cotton to me). I love the fact that June Brown is being utilised more now and Dot has a very mysterious storyline and she has Charlie and Yvonne in her life now. She will be very busy when Nick returns and there's lots of unanswered questions. Dot was boring last year (who remembers SnakeGate??). But now Dot is becoming more popular and lots of people are #TeamDot

Thoughts?

completely agree. so glad they dropped and forgot that whole evil Denny thing.
I do like sharon and phil together, would prefer them plotting together rather than against each other.

Dot had her time off last year and it's nice to see her in the middle of things but she needs a friend to have a gossip with... maybe pam?

Great post.

Dtc does actually seem to care about the shows roots, I mean we now have Cottons and Fowlers again, which is awesome considering it's the 30th next year.

The fact that Sonya, Sharon, Mandy Salter, Shirley and Ian can be rejuvenated like they have in recent times, proves there is no excuse for axing characters. At best give them an agreed 6 month - 1 year break.

I totally agree too although I've not been liking Ian in the fast few weeks (but when I think about it, that's the point because they're writing Ian how he's always been potrayed) DTC is doing awesome work.

I thought I was the only person who liked Phil and Sharon together. I hope there's a way they can remain friends if their not a couple any more.

Great post Imogen. They're not quite there yet with Sharon : some real missed opportunities with the writing but we'll see how this story unfolds.

He's worked very hard! Sharon, ian and dot are very big to the show and he's giving then all storylines! All 3 have got good storylines going on! So I like that! I just think there's loads of boring plots going on this summer, but I bet as we get into the autumn, these 3 will be getting a lot of gritty work!
