Agreed but Overall share last Monday Over the 24 hours UTV still Beat TV3 overall. UTV Ireland got 9.93 and TV3 had 9.58.
In Primetime last Monday 6pm to 11.30pm - UTV Ireland had an audience share of 13.41pc, while TV3's share was 6.9pc.

They will produce Home produced programming but probably not more than 3 or 4 hours a week outside of News. There's nothing wrong with Travel/Nature Docs. TV3 made very little Drama in the previous 17 years. In fact we have to thank UTV for Red Rock. TV3 would never have made it if it had held onto the soaps.
BBC NI and UTV are very different beasts and can't be compared.

That's not what they said at all, if you look back at their statements they wanted to be the second most watched Station in the Country by the end of 2015. I have never heard anyone from the station say that they would take on RTE1 for top spot. They planned to be at about 5 percent Share by the end of the first Sixty Days. They're actually ahead of target.
Their Ratings outside of the soaps are nothing to write home about but even repeats of Midsomer Murders and Birds of a Feather appear to beat almost everything TV3 puts out.

Again you're quoting only part figures for those two shows, they're not much higher but from memory Cilla got 81,000 overall. You do know Advertisers don't pay over the odds at primetime? 63,000 viewers at 9,00pm are basically the same as 63,000 viewers at 9.00am... The cost comes in when you look at the make up of the 63,000 viewers. Those that watch Daytime TV don't tend to be as well off. Advertisers pay more for the eyes of those with cash.
Basically it's two awful stations with generally awful Programmes fighting it out. Both Owned by British Companies. The interest here is which will survive.
