EE- Hospital blames Cancer storyline for missng waiting targets
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...g-targets.html
That's got to be the most ridiculous and pathetic attempt at blame I've ever heard! Surely the storyline's working and potentially saving lives if it's raising awareness. |

The storyline was handled brilliantly and was very well acted! Some of the most powerful EastEnders scenes this ********, it was a very natural story, and wasn't done to shock anyone of feature any shocking twists, it came from the heart, and was very real! It should be praised, not slated, how pathetic!

How disgusting that they're making out more women going in to be checked out and treated is a bad thing?! Well done Eastenders for raising more awareness, hopefully more people will benefit from being seen, diagnosed and treated early on.

Shock horror. The Daily Mail spinning it to be anti-BBC.
The NHS is more concerned with "meeting targets" than potentially saving lives? ![]() This exposes an obvious flaw in the NHS system, not a fault with raising awareness which is nothing but a good thing. Daily Fail again. |

I don't get it, how is it a bad thing that more women are looking to check themselves out as a result of this storyline?

my mom is currently battling breast cancer & this storyline has provided me comfort. It has been handled very well despite cancer featuring on our screens a lot more past few years. It has made a difference for me.
It is to be applauded more women have felt the need to get checked as a result of this , they are the NHS who have a duty to investigate concerns. If one life is saved then it is worth the extra tests/investigations etc they may have to do. rape , domestic abuse , bullying etc organisations have never complained when storyline based around those topics cause many people to come forward as it has done in the past. This story may save my life. My aunt also had breast cancer last year. With my mom now having it i am now considering getting a gene test done. Though i already knew about the gene test , seeing it on the show coupled with whats happening it has encouraged me to pursue one. I might not have even thought about it if it wasn't featured on the soap. Also though it was her first routine mammogram i don't think my mom would have gone to have it done if she hadn't watched eastenders & saw carols cancer battle. It has probably saved her life also. |

It's the DM so I don't want to click in to the link. Does it go something like this: "Soap story has encouraged women to seek early, potentially life-saving, medical treatment in suspected cancer cases: KILL THEM ALL IF THEY DON'T GO BACK TO THE KITCHEN!"?
