I blame Phil to be perfectly honest. Gone soft, he has. A while back, The Weasel's head would have been flushed down that toilet quicker than you could have said "scumbag liar kerb crawler loser"

No it isn't. If Ian left then what links to Lou and Kathy and Arthur and Pauline do we have none then apart from Rebecca which is not many. If you would axe Ian your mad because I don't want the links to the past to be forgotten otherwise who will mention Kathy, Lou, Pete, Arthur and Pauline not any of the characters that didn't know them.

Oh of course, she was beautiful. I meant in the sense that Pauline was a battle axe.

Oh she was. I didn't think she was bad looking in her older years either. She was quite a nice looking women if i'm honest. Her smile though was lovely http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2463...8#.U_UCnF7AxBU

Oh look at me hitting on an older lady haha.

To be blunt that's the only reason Ian should be kept. For continuity purposes. That doesn't say much about him as a character. I'd rather Lou, Kathy, Arthur and Pauline were still in EastEnders rather than have to rely on kerb crawling weasel to reference them.

I always thought that her and Mr Lucas would have made a great couple.

I may be mad but I'm not convinced that links are a good enough reason to keep Ian. He is such a messed up awful character I think he should go and Peter can start a new revamped Beale dynasty. I'm sure he can mention his grandma and great grandma on occasion as long as Ian is forgotten I'm fine with that.

Unfortunately we can't have Pauline ever again since she died and even if she didn't die then we still wouldn't be able to have her in the show again since Wendy s dead . I agree with you abut continuity that is why he should be kept as well but I still like Ian and do you think Adam Woodyatt can act and has he impressed you in any scenes before?

No Peter just isn't enough he never knew Lou, Pete and Arthur did he? Adam Woodyatt can act so why axe him I don't want Ian to leave not yet not until Adam quits because imagine if Letiitia quits in a few years and I bet June will be dead in about 10 years time and say if Ian is axed in 10 years time or 5 years time then that would be the last original one and that is something I don't want to see ever.

Mormon Girl please don't be so rude about people. Who says June will be dead in 10 years? Thats a horrible thing to say.

He can act moderately well but you'd think he was the Laurence Olivier of soap the way some people go on about him. The character he plays isn't very complicated. It's all whine, snivel, perv, smug, repeat. Perhaps he'd be better with a more challenging role but so far we don't know since he has never played anything else besides Ian Beale. He's a decent soap actor just like the majority of the cast. I can't say I care for his squeaky voice and crying like a kid who's been told it's time to go to bed though if I'm honest. .I'm glad you like Ian. I find him repulsive. Each to their own.

Excellent use of words in sentences. I agree wholeheartedly, but like that he's a nasty little weasel.

It's going to happen eventually. There's no way around it. June Brown is a wonder for her age but no one lives forever, Letitia Dean likes to play other roles in the theatre so she'll probably leave again and Adam Woodyatt has said he doesn't see himself being the Ken Barlow of EastEnders.

Did Adam say that did he?

He serves his purpose. I don't want him axed but I hate feeling like I'm being forced to like a character or actor just because they've never quit their job. Big deal. He stayed put for 30 years. Good for him but why should I like the character? He's always been in the middle or near the bottom of the character rung in any era in terms of interest as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds like most of the cabinet to me.

The 19 people who said that Ian should be axed need their head testing. If you get rid of Ian, you might as well stop EastEnders. He is at the heart of the show and must never leave.

I completely disagree. Ian Beale is not EastEnders and has never been integral to its success. I would gladly keep watching if he left but I don't think he should be axed. That would be a slap in the face after 30 years of working there.

I don't want him axed. I just want Beale to suffer a bit.
