You know when you're having a dull summer when even the DS Threads are repeats.

Um, so it's 7.30 not 7.45 then?! Assume that means it steals a march on the X Factor...

Edit: No, it's 7.45. Isn't it? Bring it on, Cowell, whatever.

Didn't X-Factor suddenly reschedule out of concern for facing Asylum of the Daleks?

Do people still watch the XFactor?

The problem in this is the narrative. X-Factor will likely beat Doctor Who on lives and +1, something the press will rub their hands in glee at:

"NEW DOCTOR X-TERMINATED BY COWELL".

Of course, time-shift will bump things back to normality but by the time the catch-ups and consolidated figures are released the story is old news and the damage done. Once that thought of failure gets lodged in the public consciousness....

Anyone know how/if Doctor Who has fared against X-Factor before?

No. That's why it never gets recommissioned or have millions of pounds in marketing lavished up on it.

Ask a silly question...

I think (unless the X Factor used to air at a different time of year, no idea) the only times they would ever have clashed would have been the 50th Anniversary episode and Waters of Mars.

The 50th beat X Factor but WoM lost out on overnights.

I hope The Doctor destroys this reality shite!

Class is permanent. But subjective, admittedly.

I await the annual ratings panic that has been happening since 'The End of the World' lost 2ish million viewers after 'Rose'...
