Im bored of The Carters - yes, they are a relatively new family but they dont need to be shoehorned into every storyline - there are other characters - use them!

I am finding the Lucy Beale murder slow and at times, tedious - DTC needs to knock it up a notch otherwise come February, I wont give a damn about who killed Lucy let alone why!

The Masoods badly need a good SL - Shabnam has been brought back but for what purposes? What happened to 'Dark Masood' I feel that was shoved under the table and he recovered way to quickly - bring back 'Dark Masood'

Dont give a damn about Abi - its time she went to uni - permenantly

Interested in Charlie Cotton and his SL (which appears to have been forgotten) need more on this and pronto

All in all, I am still watching but Im not avidly watching, if that makes sense, finding most SL's boring if I am honest - need some action!

I can only think that the current state of the show is because of all the sporting events we've had this year, maybe TPTB had an idea to make the show rather bland so that anyone watching said events wouldn't be missing much.

I have enjoyed quite a few story lines though, Mick's story with his fear of water and glorious triumph at the swimming gala was a nice touch imo, i liked the warm fluffiness of it. And Kat and Alfie's twins being born was another highlight and Patrick's stroke has laid the foundation of what should be a great story line.

I totally agree with whoever said that Shane/Alfie is way down on DTC's list of favourites, he and TPTB seem to be paving the way for an exit imo, when DTC chucked Kat and Alfie out of the Vic to make way for the Carters I thought it would be a new beginning, i felt Alfie would thrive on the market but no, he's been rubbish. I mean there has been highlights such as his and Kat's twins being born healthy and him and Terry dressing up as women, the fact he didn't sleep with Nicole and he has been good to Ian, (sometimes) and he made me laugh last week when he frisbee'ed that toast at that customer and he seemed at home in the cafe, it really suited him.

But..........

He's been slowly disappearing up his own arse lately, guilt tripping Terry into letting him drive his cab without a licence, putting Terry's job on the line, same with Tamwar when he guilt tripped him into giving him Aleks' password so that he could meddle in his love life which really isn't necessary imo, i could go on......, i do love him but he seems to have become really dark all of a sudden and it makes me wonder if he has anything to do with Lucy's death, was he dealing her drugs? Drug dealing is a way of earning cash and he has none, is this why he is helping Ian out and why he never went straight round to see him after Lucy died? Is he not as nice a person as we would believe him to be?

And there is the Slater house fire and he has to be heavily involved in that!

Of course this could be a huge red herring!

I have this strong feeling that Shane will be leaving next year as TPTB seem to be making him horrible and i would have thought he would have become friends with Mick and he hasn't so maybe TPTB know something we don't!

I never got to a point where I felt like giving up on the show as I'm a very dedicated viewer of 25 years! But I can see what a drastic improvement there has been since Dominic Treadwell-Collins took over the reins as producer.

The Carter family are a bit in your face, perhaps, as they are everywhere, but at least they are good characters. Stan and Nancy in particular are brilliant additions. I really want to see Nancy have a good storyline. We know she suffers from Epilepsy, so perhaps she could end up in hospital as a result.

Most people seem to have taken a dislike to Tina and Tosh, but I think they are okay in small doses. Tosh has a quite soft, vulnerable side to her which makes her a more empathic character than people give her credit for.

If there is one Carter I would like to be axed, it would be Dean as I always disliked his character before. I was not happy to hear he was being reinstated. His current storyline about his love for his Aunty Linda (sister-in-law really) is not doing him any favours.

I am a bit puzzled when I read that so many people find the Lucy storyline too drawn out and boring. I've really enjoyed every twist and turn. I've enjoyed casting my suspicion on a whole host of different characters, trying to establish a motive, and I think it's reasonable that we won't find out who is the killer until February as long, protracted murder investigations happen in real life, too, often taking many years to be resolved. It's not as if we have had just this storyline and nothing else to keep us entertained.

Although it's been quite depressing to watch at times, the Carol plot has been really well handled. Lesley Coulson has done such a fantastic job with her portrayal of a cancer sufferer, facing an uncertain future, and seeing how her family cope around her has made for some very moving scenes.

Finally, I am really pleased that the Charlie storyline has finally gained some momentum after being seemingly forgotten about for months. It was incredibly frustrating for this intriguing mystery to start, only to then disappear. I know this was due to Declan Bennett's other work commitments, but maybe they should have waited until now to begin filming with Bennett fully committed to the show.

Utterly boring. I really hope it picks up with Nick returning and the 30th anniversary.
