Nick was cremated, although they got his ashes far too quickly so they could have just taken someone else's.

He isn't an undertaker, he is a caretaker in a Care Home that's a massive difference one deals with dead bodies one deals with blocked toilets. Also if he was constantly stealing from the residents the police would be called, the Manager and Owner would also be informed by the residents families and there would be investigations. Having worked in care homes myself and had a mother that worked in and managed care homes for over 20 years when money gets stolen it gets investigated.

Obviously I meant caretaker, it was typo.

As for the rest of your post. That may be the case but EastEnders told us last night Charlie had been taking money from a resident. it always worth remembering EE is not real life so artistic licence is and can be used. So far we know nothing else about how he has been doing it or for how long. Best to see it play out eh?

No, it was stated that he had done it once, there was nothing on screen to confirm it was a regular event and it seems likely it isn't or it would have been noticed earlier than this. Yvonne would have said "there has been another robbery" rather than "there has been a robbery" and linking it to having just been followed home by somebody she thought was Nick.

I wonder if the money he stole was from the real dead guy in the coffin? if he had no family it could be easy to pull off.

Again, a good point. If he is basically dishonest it seems the money for Bianca's loan, the car etc have come from a past scam and getting a client with no relatives or estranged relatives to name him as beneficiary is more than possible and actually legal if somewhat ammoral. Maybe that is what Yvonne meant by "being onto a good thing here" although she seemed disgusted with him for stealing from someone with dementia.

That's like saying Stacey getting away with murder will encourage people to be murderers

Of course it won't encourage care assistants to do the same. People are either honest or they are dishonest and it doesn't matter what their occupation is, they won't suddenly be swayed by a soap story. It's like saying all care assistants are potential thieves but they just need a little help in figuring out how they can carry out their dishonesty. It's an insult on so many levels. They would already know how someone could steal money from vulnerable people, it's not rocket science, but this is why they are in a position of trust, and why they can resist the temptation. Obviously you'll get the odd bad apple, as you do in any vocation, but to generalise about care assistants is awful

I like this story, but has it been mentioned why they faked Nicks death. Was it a insurance scam?
