EE - Dean and Ryan

With all the talk about Ryan possibly returning, it's now that I realise how similar these characters are.

Both are bad boys but have a heart (well, Dean does have one somewhere...)
Both have had troubled upbringings.
Both blame their mothers for lots of things.
Both have sisters.
Both have had experiences with drugs.

If Ryan comes back, I'd like to see them as friends as they are similar ages and I think Dean will have no friends apart from Johnny and Lee, but they are family! He's already said that he doesn't like going to 'kids parties' when talking about Jay/Abi/Peter/Lola.

Where does this talk emanate from?

There are some threads and a lot of talk in the episode thread from today.

All speculation though.

Ryan is a good character whereas dean is just a creepy vile person who has absolutely no redeeming qualities and I can't wait till he's axed (again)!!!

I really do think that what's going on with Dean is all part of his story - he's a damaged guy who I think has to hit rock bottom before he can become the nice Deano we used to know.

I don't think you can compare Deano to Dean - Dean has the potential that we only saw in Deano's last episode. I can't wait to see what happens.

Thanks. That was quick.

Just watched it and omg, it's so weird how I remember watching it, but I totally blank during the WhitLee scenes.

In response to the op, it would be very interesting to see them be rivals over Stacey. I'm a bit tired of love triangles but there's something about them that I think would produce a great dynamic.

It's probably because they're all talented and nice to look at. Rare. Twofer!!

No problem

I agree - maybe Dean and Stacey bond over their shared history and Stacey working with Dean, and they become a bit of an item....then Ryan returns and Stacey decides to be with Ryan and Dean understands and he knows what it's like to not grow up in a stable family?

I doubt it but you never know!

In which case I'd want Ryan to be with Stacey and become a family unit after bonding over being killers. But then if want Stacey to fall into the arms of Dean and the both have their mental disorders to bond over. And hopefully we could soon have Stacey Wicks. Which I think has an infectious ring to it.

He was axed for a reason tbf, he's a character that shouldn't have been brought back IMO! I don't care much about his character... The writing isn't great for him though either tbf...

Since Ryan as a character is essentially a poor imitation of Sean, I don't see him getting along with Deano.

I'd personally like to see Stacey and Dean become a couple because they have a lot in common as individuals whereas with Ryan and Stacey, they have a daughter together, but I don't remember liking them as a couple.

If not, I'd want Dean and Stacey to become good friends as they have both been through the same things.

Dean has far more layers than Ryan!

But Sez I do think this thread is a bit premature, it's not definite Ryan is coming back

I know, that's what I've stated in my first post The natural discussion has turned to what would happen if he did return.

Agreed. Although I'd want to see Ryan and Stacey try to make it work as a family to see how that works.

I agree. I'd like for a young family to work, but also a young step-family would be equally as interesting.

I can't wait to see how Dean and Stacey interact.

Well he's come back batshit crazy and she's already killed, throw Ronnie in there and you have an open air loony bin. The next few months do look fun.

Stacey and dean would be dreadful because of matts poor acting! I don't think they have much in common?:O

Dean is NOT a bad boy. He is a little boy who thinks he is hard when he is a wuss.

EE have tried to recreate Sean in Nu Deano and its just total cringe.

Until j jossas domestic situation they would have had more likely a triangle over Lauren rather than Stacey I suspect
