Cctv Recommendations
Hi
Can anyone recommend a decent CCTV for the home, it's for my security and also keep an eye on my car parked on drive (I don't have a garage) |

What sort of system are you wanting?, wired?, wireless?, mutliple cameras?, digital recorder?, network cameras and recorder?, internet capability? - there are endless options.
An easy option would be to use a WiFi camera like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Foscam-FI890...al+wifi+camera I've got something similar I use. |

http://www.geovisioncctv.co.uk/index.php http://www.henrys.co.uk/cctv/ircameras.htm No experience of any of these, just places I book marked a long time ago when looking for myself. Generally speaking I'd say you want high resolution colour (the higher the better, but at least 500 tv lines), a DVR recorder (digital recorder). Also, look for good night vision and contrast handling capabilities eg when the light gets tricky eg if the sun is shining towards the camera itself. Avoid quad systems etc as with them you get 4 small pictures recorded instead of each individual one full screen. Also, watch for frame rates and resolutions on DVR's as usually the quoted maximum frame rates are usually SPLIT amongst all the connected cameras. eg If you have a DVR with 30fps capability, then with 2 cameras, each camera can only record at 15fps. With 3 cameras it would be 10 fps. Same with resolutions. 30fps at 300 tv lines might only be 10fps at 500tv lines. So make sure any quoted frame rate is at the resolution of your camera and sufficient to allow each camera to record at 30 fps. Ideally you want maximum the resolution you can get and 30fps per camera (any slower and the picture starts to look jerky). |

As he's wanting wireless cameras, it may be easiest to just get two wireless IP cameras, and use a PC as the recorder - most cameras come with software to record and view one or multiple cameras, anywhere on the network or over the Internet. |
