I love Patrick Kielty! (I think it's the accent )

I'd rather not see Dickie Park back on the screens, though. What a merchant banker.

I know, surely the BBC wouldn't rid him of the next comic relief fame academy?

I'd be glad if he goes - he gets on my nerves because of his habit of interrupting and blocking the judges when they give less than glowing feedback and how quickly he jumps to Carrie and David for their input. This has meant that sometimes, we haven't had the feedback from all 3 judges as they've run out of time. I'd rather he allowed the judges to continue with their critique (yes, he may need to hurry Parky along) and let us hear what they have to say. He is not the only one guilty of this - Carrie and David have done it a lot - particularly when Craig would comment.

No, he can stay if they tie him up like Hannibal Lecter - including the muzzle!

Dickie Park is a humourless tw*t...
He may be right about Paddy as far as FA goes because there almost certainly won't be another series. No reason to suppose that Paddy wouldn't get other BBC gigs though.. It was Dickie who made the vulgar gesture.. I've a feeling its more likely he who will not be asked back

He wishes!

I'm guessing that, as a presenter Patrick Kielty is likely to be offered other stuff.

More likely is that RP will not be on our tv screens again!

I'm no Paddy fan, but he does a good job on Fame Academy. If he wasn't "so quick to go to Carrie and David" then we would never hear from them - there has to be a balance, and given the length of the show that will always mean that not everyone gets a chance to comment on every performance. But then the amount of times some judges would just say the same thing for certain 'students', it's hardly a great loss.

Besides which, Richard can hardly complain about being interrupted - if he didn't waste all the time he was given reeling off bits of trivia and name dropping, he would have plenty of time to give his opinions.

But the biggest problem with Richard is that he can dish out all the criticism, and have a joke at other peoples expense - but he can't take it the other way. Craig may be a bit blunt at times, but at least he can take / go with a joke.

RP in my opinion thinks he's the life and soul of that programme! He seems to be quite big headed, and at sometimes, it didn't look like he was treating the programme as a 'bit of fun for charity'!

I doubt Patrick is in the least bit scared of anything Parks says or does.

I don't understand what you mean?

When did he say this?
In what context was it said?
Where?
When?

You haven't said anything other than he just said it.

Can you give me more info about the situation, or conversation, or a link possibly?

Seems to me that Park is putting up his last bit of Bravado, knowing full well his chances of working for the beeb again are about as good as Konnie getting a record contract...lol. Last chance to wield that sharp tongue I think!!! Just give it up Richard, it just don't work anymore, nobodies scared of you!!

I don't like RP but he sometimes makes me laugh cos he's such a p***t when he is having a go at Patrick but I cannot stand Patrick even more. It's visual as well as his interruptions. I understand that he is sticking up for the students (or is he just having a go at Richard because it makes him look good) it's that he constantly interrupts. It just does my head in.

In all fairness, it's his *job* to interrupt... the programmes do have a fixed running length, and can't go on until all the personalities have said everything they want to (about everybody).

I'm not sure if it's his job to interrupt or if it is just what he does. I don't know if you've watched Pop Idol where the judges gave their feedback and after they'd finished, Ant & Dec would say something positive. I know it's a different format but I much prefer that.

I have no problem with Patrick giving feedback but I'd prefer it if he gave it once everyone finished - time allowing. There have been many occasions where Craig starts off with the negative but you can tell that he is going to on to say something more positive. Patrick cuts him off immediately before he reaches his crux and asks Carrie and David for their views - it then descends.

I agree that they have a fixed running time but he uses up much of it arguing and going to and fro between the judges and Carrie and David.

Although RP goes on and on, Richard should learn how to move them on. I'd much rather hear what the judges have to say. They are there to give their views be it negative or positive. I imagine that Carrie and David are there to balance it. If Patrick wants to come in, I'd rather it be at the very end. It only takes a few second to say that was excellent but he wastes precious minutes arguing. Craig sometimes doesn't finish off or finishes off lamely. He then moves on to another judge and again it goes to David and Carrie. Sometimes you get feedback from only 2 judges. There have been times that I have been dying to hear what the other judge has to say.

Having said all that, I imagine that the producers want it just the way it is to create interest or hype.

I guess that I'll be in the minority or even alone in this view but, as I said before, it irritates me. Always has done and always will do - that is if there is another series.

Actually, I don't know anyone who does like him I hate the way he squabbles his way through a show - if they'd wanted him on the judging panel, I'm sure they would've asked!

Yes indeed - as I've said before, I can't stand the guy, and dread the bits with the judging panel because of him and the cr*p he comes out with. I'd much rather hear all three judges than listen to him - why couldn't they alternate that bit with Cat?

He's bad enough in isolation, but when you compare him vs RP to Ryan Seacrest vs Simon Cowell on American Idol, he really is shown up as the poor relation.

Each channel has it's fair share of people where you are left wondering how they ever got their chance, but 'Paddy' stands tall across them all as the worst peak time entertainment show presenter. It's a pity he can't just go back to doing voice-overs for Gerry Adams!

But then Carrie and David did about as much arguing as Patrick. And even so, I don't think there was as much of that, as there was of RP wittering on about who wrote this and when, how he's best mates with everyone in the business, went to their wedding, took their brother on a jolly to Margate, etc. Sorry, but anyone that does that can have no complaints about being interrupted - they had time to make their point, but would rather stroke their own egos.

True, but they don't allow as much time for opinions as some other shows, so something has to give. And with Pop Idol, the judges know how to give a brief opinion when asked for one...

Not at all - he irritates me... he isn't particularly funny, he thinks too highly of himself, and there was that period when he just on *way* too much... but if he puts a pin in RP's bubble, that's alright by me...
