Should Eastenders get rid of deadwood through a Disaster stunt?
I know DTC said he doesn't want to "blow things up for the sake of it" but does anyone else think there are too many characters in the show now? Obviously there probably won't be another death until the Lucy murder case is wrapped up since it'd take away some of the impact from the storyline but I think there needs to be a clearout at some point. I remember HO did a clear out last year when 4 people died in that explosion/crash.
I'd get rid of the following: Dexter Fatboy Tosh Maybe a child/baby too? |

Are you suggesting Easties should take notes from Hollyoaks? That's offensive

Maybe they could be having a party in a small space and a bomb goes off killing them all instantly
Problem solved The bomb could be wrapped up like a present and dexter could unwrap it which detonates the bomb killing the lot of them and saving the ones we love

I actually do want that for EastEnders. That's all they've really not had in the past year but the upcoming storyline (on my phone so can't do spoilers but you might know about The Moon thing in September), that could prove a good moment.

I just wonder what massive thing will happen on the 30th anniversary. Afterall, the Lucy reveal by itself might not be that dramatic.

EastEnders aren't really the best at stunts. Unless they were investing a lot of time and effort into making it the best it could possibly be, no thanks.

Dexter, FatBoy & Tosh don't deserve an exit like this just let them talk the tube from Walford East never to be seen again.

I've always thought R&R was the perfect place for a gas explosion as it's such a tight location. And with DTC clearly not wanting to utilize it might be interesting to see it one more time before it's exploded off our screen.
On my hit list would be: Dexter Tina Whitney Alfie The reason behind Dexter is obvious, he's an awful character. Killing off Tina would have a spectacular impact on the Carters and would provide Linda Henry with more opportunities to shine, plus it would get rid of Tosh by default as she'd have nothing to stay on the Square for. I personally don't like Whitney as the character has been involved in lots of "life changing" storylines but has developed very little as a person. Plus her relationship storylines which seem to happen every year are always incredibly tedious and tiresome. And I think Alfie is pretty self explanatory too. It would also give Jessie Wallace some real material to get her teeth into. |

What about Tamwar? He has been a pointless character for the last few months and just mopes around being miserable and moaning about his job!

Yes. Something huge they can blow the budget on. Kill off Tosh,Deano,Lilly,Dexter,Lola and that way the Aftermath affects so many families on the Square.

Armed robbery, and drugs bust. they get in a helicopter to escape but a tornado causes devastation, and sends the helicopter into a petrol station which explodes, and another tornado becomes a fire tornado and heads towards the square. As residents take cover from this fire tornado an earthquake strikes, causing more explosions and a great fire which burns for hours before a tsunami wipes out another chunk of characters. Just as Dexter stands up relieved that hes survived it all, a shark jumps out of the flood waters and devours him whole.
Alfie manages to sell knock of welly boots for a few episodes to wade through the flood water with, until he dies from cholera. |

no certainly not. we still have the scars from the fair ground disaster. eastenders aren't good at stunts. characters are better to leave on a red london bus, a black taxi or better still the tube. anyway eastenders has a pretty good ensemble at the mo.
