Simon isnt half as bad as people make out on here. Considering the shit the little lad has been through he is a sweet and lovely kid.
People just vent against the character for the sake of it without having anything concrete to throw back at him. It's beyond tragic.

Most people on DS would crucify their own parents, they are that ruthless.
I dont hate him but he is annoying now. Why is Leanne palming him off on anyone that will take him - especially the gruesome twosome Madder and Spotty. Leanne made such a big thing about being "his mum" yet she is more interested in smashing up the Bistro with that face on.
I like Simon, he is a moaner tho, wat ever happend tintye little boy who got 2 trains and a bendy bus , also as he's as he's getting older he's looking darker skinned not an issue but both his biological parents are white (peter and Lucy) also I'm getting worried if every single time Leanne's in her flat Simon seems to be locked in his bedroom, maybe she is the wicked step mother after all

Emmerdale kids seem to be well cast and some are even excellent child actors like Belle Dingle

I always thought Peter looked a bit dark skinned with his dark hair and dark eyes. Doesn't look like Ken, although does have a resemblance to his late grandfather Frank.

The only times she cares for Simon is using him as a weapon towards Peter or Nick. Like lying that Simon thought Nick was dying.

I think the kids are fine, like Amy, Simon, Asha and Aadi (who haven't appeared in ages).
The boy is only acting the role. and reading the script, he is given. The writers can only write in Brattish for child characters, I suppose it is easier than writing scripts for nice children.
There is no question that Simon does in fact look mixed race and people are going to comment on this.
Unfortunately in soaps there have been such dodgy castings (Adam in ED trying to pass himself off as Caucasian when we all know the actor in real life is mixed race) that we are looking for story lines that don't exist.

I've said before in other threads that Simon has had a traumatic start to his life, so it isn't surprising that he plays up.

IMO Alex Bain is a great young actor and is doing his best with the script he's given.

The thing is he doesnt play up that much. He'd be entitled to be a revolting brat who causes mayhem everywhere, but he generally accepts the way his world is panning out without playing up. Bless him.

He out acts that vast majority of the adult cast. He's an excellent young performer.
Have nothing against SImon, although he is a wee bit annoying at times, but the child has been terribly, terribly miscast as the son of Peter and Lucy, and the grandson of Ken and Val , it's just so unbelievable. His features and the black curly hair just don't fit in with the Barlow's, sorry to say that, but it's true.
