The OP is only posting hatred about a fictitious character who happens to be a very annoying child. It's quite justified I think!

I think it's sad how anybody can criticize a child.....but in this instance it's the character and not the child most of the posters are criticizing ....though it's not nice when it gets personal....

He needs a head transplant with a blue eyed blonde.

What he needs is to stop behaving like a Vicious Brat. And perhaps being sent to a Borstal.

The OP criticised his appearance, admittedly in a rather silly way. It's fine to talk about the character, but to comment on his hair is unpleasant.

Indeed.
Internet bullying it could be called. I wonder if Alex Bain reads this forum.

Let's hope not. Many of the views on here are utterly repellent, including those of the OP.

Posting you'd like to give the child 'a good hiding' whether he's fictional or not is just plain weird at best, abusive at worst. Imo it's perfectly fine to comment on the character and how much of a brat he is (he really is a brat) but the line should be drawn and saying he deserves to be beaten or joking about the actor's appearance. Not nice, especially since it's a child you're talking about.

I don't know why so many have got it in for this little boy. Simon is played by an extremely good young actor (I think he's called Alex Bain), and the character of Simon is delightful. Don't people like confident kids? I do, I think it's marvellous. As for comments about his hair I was thinking last night that it was the school holidays, he'll probably have it cut before he returns to school but it looks OK to me at the moment.

I agree he was great to start then slowly it went down hill for him, he gets a hard time

As each and every one of you know intimately, I abhor and despise violence in all its ugly, obscene forms - but I'll make an exception in Simon's case.

I see. So it is ok to hate a child in soaps as long as it's the right one

I agree and he acts it well which is why I hate him

You hate Alex Bain?

As you're confused you obviously accept there's a possibility it's the character I'm talking about and not the person and if you take into consideration the context which is me responding to a post saying Simon has been written in a brattish way, not that Alex Bain is a brat, I think that would confirm it was the character.

I really don't have a problem with the actor at all. I detest the character though and his hairstyle is terrible, an absolute eyesore. What's the problem with that?

You can't seriously think that. Fake posturing online like this is very sad.

Good post. Alex Baines is a kid acting a part as hes directed to do. Sadly i think DS has a majority of kids posting now adays judging by the nasty spiteful posts ..... i wouldnt worry hes probably mentally maturer than half of the posters on here anyway so he will be taught to rise above it all.

I would imagine his parents will no doubt be doing their job properly and protecting him from the social media bashing

and yes i know having a pop about a character is very different but theres plenty of posting about certain actors hair/ their looks

What has Simon done? Amy was the one that let Eccles run off and lied about it, culminating in her being hit by a car.
