I can't agree. It is getting too forced. Trying too hard to be funny and is becoming irritating. The programme is almost entirely slapstick these days.

It doesn't feel forced at all. Deirdre comes out with her lines with brilliant timing. I loved her 'Eccles brought my mother great joy. I didn't but Eccles did'.

I'm also liking Tim's comic input (the actor's a natural).

Okay, obviously a matter of perception. It does to me but I do appreciate a lot of viewers love her interludes.

I love Deirdre but I'm finding her funny comments very forced and unconvincing lately. They are more embarrassing than amusing.

I normally like Diedre but tonight she was just annoying. I like Sally's one liners.

Aww, I love Deirdre! I thought she was great tonight - 'did you bring me anything, me nerves are shot...' made me really laugh. Poor wee Eccles though...I was (embarrassingly!) shouting at the telly when they found him!

Also, this isn't being mean to the young actor who lays Simon - but when he flares his nostrils does anyone else thing he looks like a tiny Lou Ferrino?

I agree, love Deirdre. She's probably the shining light in Corrie for me at the moment and always makes me laugh. I know she's OTT but on Corrie that doesn't seem to matter somehow.

You've got it bang on! I can understand some people might find her a bit too much, but somehow (for me, anyway) it just works.

Deirdre should be diazepam dependent by rights

She is on the mend I think. She has a bonnet, a bandage and some drops - so fingers crossed.

I agree. The comedy is far too forced and it seems they are trying too hard. Although sometimes Deirdre is funny but that's more by luck than judgement.

Corrie used to do dry and acerbic humour the best but that takes more skill/talent than the heavy handed stuff they do now.

She was amazing, lol'd so much xD also the part when she said Tyrone hasn't been the same since the one with the hair hit him with the hoover nozzle xD LOL. Also, Audrey, Sally, Tracyluv and Gail in part are hilarious, too!

Her so called "comedy" monents are just so cringeworthy. If they are trying to make her the new Blanche they are well off the mark.

She makes me laugh.

The other night she rolled off that long list of requirements she wanted for her holiday - and then (without looking at him) said "stick that in Google Ken"

I thought Deirdre was hilarious especially when she told Carla and Luke that 'Tirrone's not been right since her with the hair kept smacking him with the hoover nozzle' ...and when she told Sally that Eccles had 'gone off in Carla's car', as if the dog had gone joyriding.
