EastEnders - thoughts on the Charlie reveal

So this week we discovered Charlie is a care taker in a care home his mother is the assistant manager of and that to keep his cover in place he stole money from one of the residents to buy a flash car etc.

Was it a good twist? or did you hope for more?

I like the fact this proved Charlie was just a sad low payed loner. Makes it more interesting.

His mother was not the manager.

Loved it. I'm glad we are finally learning more about Charlie and what he is about. Obviously we had already cottoned on to the fact he wan't a real Police Officer but to find out that he is caretaker, working and living with his mother, actually, to me, made him more real!

The one thing that does bug me in soaps is how people can just jack their job in and up sticks with no security? Yvonne said to Charlie she has no one else yet she can throw away her wage and home to move to Ireland without out so much as a backward glance? I wish it was that easy! Does this mean Charlie still has his job?

The line where Yvonne said 'She's his mother, he wouldn't hurt her' and then the look on Charlie's face? Woah. What happened in between him going to the tube station with Yvonne and then turning up at Dot's doorstep?
I do think he genuinely cares for Dot and maybe believes that he has put her in danger by hanging around?

I'm still intrigued as too who the body they cremated really was? Someone from the old people's home? And how does Les Coker fit in?

For a reveal, we are still left with a LOT of questions and I for one, am really enjoying it.

Pauline Mclynn is with EE on a regular contract now so must return full time in a month or so. I guess when Ronnie returns and then Nick reappears

My thoughts on the Charlie reveal?

Booooooriiiiing!!!

Unlike many here I had no great love of this sl & anything that's gonna end with the return of Nick Cotton does not fill me with joy. He really does belong in the past.

I liked it. Considering the reality compared to the fantasy he cooked up, it's given him a bit of a Walter Mitty sheen.

So...

Agreeing with poster further up.... And...

Where did Charlie get the money to pay Les?

Who was the body in the coffin?

When the police got involved, how did they know Nick was dead?

Why were the police with Charlie when it all first started?

Am I overthinking this?

K.

Its already been established. ^^ Charlie stole the money from an elderly resident. Probably the same guy who was in the coffin.

You mean Mrs Doyle, yes she hates referring to that role because she is a "serious actress" now, if it wasn't for Father Ted she wouldn't have got the Shameless gig and now this one, that show put her on the map, daft woman can't stand her.

It started to make some sense by last night but there are still unanswered questions.

Why was he encouraging Dot to move near him and why was it never mentioned again.

Did he already know that Nick was watching him, he certainly covered for him over the theft from the drawer.

Who's was the body and was the original policewoman also a fake.

Why were they travelling by train when he's got an expensive car that only had a broken side window....was he just going to abandon it.

And most of all why did Nick want to fake his own death.

I am glad that Charlie is Dot's Grandson and not an imposter.

I'm hoping we're gonna get more of an explanation than we've got so far.

I don't like Yvonne. She can go.

Charlie can stay though.

The reveal was interesting enough.

Still have no real idea what exactly is going on those with them and Nick.

he stole £500 a couple of days ago. yvonne mentioned the resident had just taken it out the bank for his grandsons birthday so he definately wasn't in the coffin.

but I'm now thinkng that it was prob a resident with no family that died that ended up in the coffin and why they are so scared
